It is interesting that we are starting to compare Shag with some of the past greats. There is no doubt that the advancement from freshmen to sophomore has been tremendous. It absolutely has the potential to be one of the best ever to play that position with us. And I will be rooting for him all the way. I particularly loved the play near the end of the game where he caught the ball on the post and absolutely powered his way thru the maze to the goal. He was not going to be stopped unless he was tackled. We have not seen that type of pure play from that position in a while and I hope he continues.

Now if AN and Dom both advance from freshmen to sophomore like Shaq has then I pity anyone coming against us next year.

Would love to see it, but no way he makes four years. We will be lucky to get three with his pace of improvement.

Just saw in the CA where he is the first big to avg 7 rebounds since Taggart. Didn't realize Taggart avg that much.

Joey was better on defense, shaq better on offense.

Joey was also better at technical fouls. Didn't he lead the nation as a sophomore?

Wise was better as a senior, not a sophomore...Halfway through his second year, yeah, Massie was likely better; though they are very different type players. Shaq is a better athlete (Massie was a good athlete) Massie was just a freakin tank!

If you didn't double team Massie in the post, he would score during his second year.
