First, as a UCF fan, I have to say that ultimately I don't give a rats ass one way or the other. I think both programs are developing nicely, and it'll end up being much like UF/UM -- a rarely played rivalry (by one schools choosing.)
Let's just keep this in context though. This isn't about what ucf has to gain by playing a bcs opponent -- UCF has tried to make this game an annual since day 1, when that wouldn't have even factored into the decision.
It took the threat of state politics (coincidently, the same way the FSU/UF rivalry started) to make the game happen.
USF has from the very start of their existence avoided a commitment regarding this game. I, and many other UCF fans, think that this is a pretty short sighted decision and not in the best interest of our region as a whole.
As far as last years game, yeah, we got our asses handed to us. Some years Miami blows out FSU, some years UF blows out FSU. It's football.
