Sorry, I don't want to be compared to Belmont.

Before last year, Butler played in the Horizon League. I guess you don't want to be compared to them either right.

I think the Horizon League would certainly shudder at that comparison given its historical strength as a mid-major basketball conference compared to the OVC's. But either way, Butler has been an NCAA D-1 program for 50 years, won 19 NCAA tournament games, been in the Sweet Sixteen five times and the national championship game twice. That's 40+ more years than Belmont, 19 more NCAA tournament wins, five more Sweet Sixteens and two more NC games.

So Butler is not a proper comparator; the basketball history of Butler and UAB are very comparable. But the basketball history of Butler and Belmont are not comparable. And the basketball history of UAB and Belmont are not comparable. But maybe I'm wrong; somebody make a case that Belmont's basketball program is the historical equivalent of UAB.

Who was talking about history? We're talking about now. Belmont is good now. If UAB had the success Belmont has had the last few years many of us hear would be happy with it.

You brought up the OVC being a low major. Fact is you had to look up the Horizon League to see what type of league it was.

Just saying you shouldn't be focus on what type of conference Belmont plays in. If you good, you're good period.
