Not if you're honest with yourself and not to me. It was never a pre-condition that whatever team we beat be listed in the AP; or, if it was, then please direct me where that was agreed upon before we played St. Mary's.

1-13 sucks enough on its own, and getting crushed by a team that Las Vegas said was slightly better is bad enough.

Agreed.

Believe me, I'm not making excuses for CJP. I like him a lot and want him to succeed, but it's time to compete against the Top 10 and not get the floor wiped with our faces. I think he will and I think it will be this year, but at the end of the day there shouldn't be any guesswork as to where we stand.

those looking to justify Coach P are grasping for straws. It's sad when we are now justifying our teams failures by the failures of others. The end is near.

One has been "coaching" since 99 (head for 5), and the other three have been head coaches for over 14-30 years. With more experience coaching than that.

So, right, no comparison.

CJP is paid to be as good as anybody, including legends and Hall of Famers.

I'll have to agree with that ... no excuses.

That said, we will have a number of opportunities to get big wins this year, and I'm certain we will win our share.

Exactly. I have great faith that CJP will, indeed, post wins over top teams this year and make a good run in the NCAAs. I would have preferred that it start last week, but since it didn't I will assume that it will this week.

The team was 31-5 last season. The end is near? Oh wait, you're also the same person who said to drop football for the sake of basketball. Your opinions are skewed across.the board.

Seriously? You're comparing the struggles of Josh to a coach who is coming off a national title and one who has postseason success every year? This is just idiotic.

Give it a rest.

He wasn't comparing the coaching resumes', he was comparing the fact that they lost games they shouldn't have lost to weaker competition. We lost a game we were supposed to lose to a top 5 team. Its a fair point.

Losing is one thing, happens to every team out there. Having your @ss handed to you on national television is quite another.

RE: Using the Josh Rule
0-13 or 1-13, depending on how you look at it, is where we are. Is it because of coaching ability or general coaching style and overall philosophy? When you compare Josh to cal here, the difference is that cal had established himself at umass. Josh hasn't proven himself at all, since he's a new coach 4 yrs in. That's the problem, he hasn't proven himself against good teams and has no track record to fall back on, so it remains to be seen if he can even compete against top level competition. That's why there is so much uncertainty here.
