Eating with just one chopstick is called shish kebab.

thoughts..

I totally agree with you on this one. I remember being in college looking at those d bags eating sushi in the food court.

Here we are in the middle of Oklahoma and these wannabes are eating rolled up fish/rice circles with chopsticks, dipping them in soy sauce - as if this is NYC and they are the most cutting edge people within miles.

Really stupid.
lol are you being serious?

Maybe they just liked the taste of sushi. Somehow I doubt you've ever tried it.
yes I have tried it. It reminds me of Pinesol.

As for the liberals in the food court. No, they are clearly eating it for an image. They are trying to be all countercultural -and its pretty obvious. I knew it then, and it holds true today.

Pick the damn thing up with your fingers and take a fricken bite. Stop trying to be Yoko Ono with the damn sushi.

Damn elitists and their fancy eating utensils.

Or damn those liberal hipsters who are so desperate for an identity they have to steal on from somewhere else.

I know. I'm all like, this is America. You need to eat American food. They're clearly just compensating for their lack of manhood by trying these foreign foods.

It's not manhood. It's the teaching that culture must be piped into American because we are not worthy of our own.

Damn right. They're trying to infiltrate our belief system with their raw fish. Not on my watch.

Your snark cannot deflect that my observation is what many people see. It's a classic case of trying too hard to look like someone you aren't. Only liberals use food as a fashion statement. To the rest of us, it looks weak and unoriginal.

It's kinda like white people and hip hop. How many times will white liberals try to copy someone else before they get a identity of their own?

Good grief. We love out sushi. Even make it ourselves after I've been off shore rounding up some fresh tunas. You ever tried to eat sushi with a fork? May as well dump it all in a bowl, add some soy and eat it with a spoon.

Not really a big deal. If you can hold a pencil between your thumb and middle finger, and move your index finger independently you'll be shoveling down the white rice in no time.

Each time I have eaten it, I had no problem picking it up or using a fork.

You and I agree about 99 percent of the time. However, this one time I am not buying the "it can only be eating with chopsticks" argument.

I think we are all fully aware that those silly kids I am talking about are searching for an identity.

This!

You can't really eat sushi with a fork.

I like a lot of ethnic foods myself.

It started when the OP spelled chopsticks as two words.

Got to give credit to Widespread, he starts a fire knowing
full well that Dixie will throw gasoline on it.

Heh.

I have the standard cutlery in my kitchen. Thanks for asking.

I don't use chopsticks, mostly because I'm hopelessly inept at them, but I don't think people using them are quite ready to piss on Old Glory.
