I'm surprised that Satkus is getting so many minutes. He doesn't seem to be doing much with them. Brady must be really unhappy with Bessick

His shooting as been atrocious. But he's proved himself on the boards and with some layups.

That's a good point. I don't recall seeing Bessick since that foul and it would make sense that Brady wants some size

I can't help but think we wouldn't have won a game like that a few years ago. Had the lead most of the game but have to work on putting an opponent away.
Good win for a young team. Ugly but happy for the W.

A five point win over a bad niu team... A win is a win I guess. I don't know how some say they're excited.

I was pleased with Satkus, he pulled down a bunch of rebounds. I think he had about 5 in the second half.

RE: Niu in game
Very tough to be the host team in a tourney, by the sound of it most of the marginal calls went to the Huskies. Any wins we pick up before Nation returns are great. 3 guys in doubles, we will need that pretty much every game - since we don't have much scoring balance.

Satkus isn't an offensively strong player, but he is big, takes up a lot of space, and most importantly, can rebound well.

Re: Niu in game
Ugly wins still count as wins. The kids dont understand their roles yet.
Semenov has to get more shots from the arc for this offense to be any good.

Agreed, we found a way not to blow the lead. I don't get why everyone is so underwhelmed by this ball club. This game was much more enjoyable to watch than the previous Denzel Bowles teams (not trying to pick on DB individually) which became lazy many times on defense. Our defense tonight was solid. The only offense NIU had all night was to run into of defenders and hope for a block call.

I thought this young team showed some moxie tonight.
