RE: Haas delays signing
If he didn't meet Wake's standards, it is possible he wouldn't meet ours either.
I would be surprised if that is the reason, although we may never hear the true reason.
Maybe they didn't want a signing right now with the chance that the coach might not be around too much longer.

Haas delays signing

Just what I've heard Wake fans say (but a lot of fans hype stuff about their schools that isn't true to make themselves feel superior).
Wondered that but UABs standards are pretty tough. So I don't think that's likely. It is curious though. Who passes on a 7ft player with his skill set?

RE: Haas delays signing
According to their roster they have only one senior. So it may be that they are not allowed to oversign...

Haas had a 24 on the ACT at one point

RE: Haas delays signing
If wake required higher than a 24 on the ACT then the wouldn't have enough potential recruits to field a team

Maybe they gave him an ultimatum. Sign now or offer pulled. Maybe he wanted to rethink his decision and Wake didn't want to wait with others ready to step up and take the spot.

All signs from the recruiting people is Haas to UAB. Would further put the exclamation point on this recruiting class. Western's explanation about Wake's roster limitations makes sense, but I wonder why they even bothered recruiting him? It seems like they would've known their limits.

Except their coach is clueless and will probably be fired mid-season.

RE: Haas delays signing
They signed a highly-rated PG so that may have been the only scholly they had. You always over-offer just in case and sort it all out when you have to. Some teams will over-offer and over-sign and have a scholly become available(player leaves, kicked off team, get medical redshirt, etc) before the Fall semester starts. Happens a lot, especially in football. Some teams (and some conferences) will not allow schollys to be signed when one is not (yet) available...

Some have updated it to be UAB now, most haven't.
Outside of Garrett Tucker & the juco recruiting site, I wouldn't pay that much attention to the others.
They all have UAB. Head of 247 has UAB. This isn't just a joke cause George has him going to UAB. What's funny is he's doing more at age 16 then y'all ever dreamed of.
it was a lot harder to pretend to be a national analyst before the internet

That would be choosing to going in a new direction, not having to go in a new direction.
he is a teenager so I wouldn't put too much on the difference between him saying having to go instead of choosing to go. the phrase "I have to do this" has been uttered by many a teen about things of little import

Yes, it is early. It is 6:54 A.M.
Coach Haase and The Blazers are on a mission, to take UAB to "The Final Four", possibly several, and it is entirely possible.

He does look like a nice, law-abiding, upstanding, young man. And he has a nicely cropped hair cut.
