I just don't want to drop rankings wise because of it

One game, then go on the road to face a top 10 school... Thats a recipe for disappointment.

I don't agree with all this.

One extra cupcake game isn't going to be the difference in winning and losing against okie St.

Yea, but think how much pleasure the negative Nancy crowd get because they get to complain before we play our first game. 07-coffee3

How many games did Ky play before the Michigan State game last night? Ky lost.
How many games did Michigan State play before the Ky.game last night? Michigan State won.

The answer is:

Michigan St played 1 game before last night and won

Kentucky played 2 games before last night and lost

So the theory is a bust from that perspective

Since 01-02...

Our teams are 2-5 against early tough competition played after 2 prior games.

5-5 when the first tough game came after 0 or 1 prior games.

Different levels of tough for sure. Basically- any time you play a tough team, you have a higher chance of losing the game. As does Oklahoma State.

In our 2d game the year we opened with a nice win over Syracuse- we lost to Austin Peay.

I'm just ready to start the season so we can start having conversations about our own team rather than every elses team.

I think a scrimmage against Baylor, CBU, and Austin Peay is worth every bit as much as the three cupcake games they have played. If they havent played any secret scrimmages or exhibitions, that makes 3 games for both teams

I wonder if having a scrimmage game set us back a bit.

There is a positive side here.

The staff has had a lot of games to watch and really gauge how the refs are calling these games.

We have a lot better idea of what to expect now.

Glass-half-full viewpoint: More games = greater chance for injury

Kentucky could have used another cupcake. How the hell they were pre-season number 1, I'm not sure. That's great they have a nice recruiting class, but when watching the starting line ups my first thought was experience will trump these young ens. And it did.
