There were between 2500-3500 empty seats up top and another 500-1000 below the uppers, alot in the ashley VIP section. I wish it could have been full, there certainly was a demand. THe entertainment didnt work, the luminate people have to have a 100% dark area to do the show, we could all see there entire body while moving, which killed the effect. It could have been cool if they would have got to do their thing in the right environment. Jameson was bad bad bad, dude couldn't sing anymore, dont get that one. But man o man was I impressed with the team, i know it was a glorified dunking practice, I came away saying man do we have some talent on the floor!

It's ridiculous with all of the bitching and complaining. How many programs can get 15,000 or more in an arena in city for a intro and 10 minute scrimmage? Perhaps 2 or 3 schools....perhaps.

While this year Memphis Madness kind of whimpered down at the end, it was very good and compared to other schools it was awesome

It makes me mad that the university goes through great length to entertain y'all but you still complain about it. Grow up and have some fun for once.

There were thousands of empty seats in almost every arena they showed.

We look geat in comparison to most schools.

Our fans looked more pumped and crazy than almost everyone.

who gives a $&@?, when you ticket an event and give out exactly the number of seats in the arena you ensure thousands of seats are left empty...I get it...we don't want "them" here...but this is sad...several thousand open seats.

It's sad?

12-15,000 people show up to watch a practice on a Friday night in a city with a number of other things to do after they stood in long lines days before the event and it's "sad"? What a pathetic attitude.

If there really is that many, it still is not completely full with people being turned away like in past years. A good crowd no doubt, but having to close the doors because the Fire Marshall tells you to is what we have experienced in the past. I was afraid to make the drive down without a ticket because I didn't want to drive down and be told I could not get in, while plenty of empty seats were inside. My work schedule kept me from getting to Ashely this week and there was so much confusion from every source as to what to expect when we arrived without tickets. I believe a plan is needed if the Forum wants the school to use tickets, but deciding less that two weeks before the event did not allow the process to work properly.

My thoughts exactly. Imagine trying to get off work and get a ticket all week, to no avail, then to go down and BUY a ticket from a street vendor because I wanted to go so badly, $30, and then get inside and see a few thousand empty seats. Really disgusting.

If they do this ticketing deal next year, they should at least offer free tickets first to those folks who buy tickets in both bb and football, pay a TSF donation, belong to the booster clubs, and donate a few thousand to the capital campaigns. And do them the courtesy of either mailing them out or allowing them to come to the AOB during normal business hours, NOT running them through a private business, no matter how much money the private business donates for the event. That is simply not good business on the part of the school. Most working folks cannot be at a retail store at 10:00 in a line for tickets, and many people do not have family members or "runners" who can do this for them.

I liked Pearl though.

And the band. I am sorry the recruits did not get to hear the place rocking with the fans being led in cheers by the band. It was embarrassing to me when everyone was leaving at the end when the Luminate were doing their last act.

It's FREAKING FREE! Complaining about a event that you didn't have to pay for but was offered freely to fans and supporters is dumb. If you're complaining because you spent the time, parking fees and money on food to an event you didn't like , you knew fully well that this was a GLORIFIED PEP RALLY!

My take....
Wasn't expecting JT so I wasn't disappointed with Jimi & the lit up folks

Crowd was better than I thought it would be, considering I knew tons of folks not coming

I never once saw anyone trying to sell a ticket and I was there at 3pm

I saw several folks giving their extra tickets away (a young couple gave me 2 to give away and I did and the 2 young guys were thrilled)

Unlike last year, everyone around me stayed till the very end.

From where I was sitting, the lit up folks were good, it was real dark and my camera didn't like it.

I thought Jimi did an awesome job !! It was cool to see him again and I thought he sounded wonderful (and yes, I know what good vocals sound like) He's 62 years old for crying out loud !

All in all, I thought it was fun. The team really looked good and loved Dino and Shaq diving into those wings after the contest was over....they both looked like they hadn't eaten in days ! 03-lmfao

Too bad we have such spoiled, unhappy, hard to please, always something to complain about fans. Folks, life is short, stop a second, take a nice long breath and thank God you are alive and well and able to go to/watch Memphis Madness. Instead of nit picking a free event, just freakin relax and find something about it to enjoy??

I will say one thing for sure. Whoever was in charge of the music before the event actually started and during transition times during the event did an outstanding job.
