What were these guys thinking? Do you think they will be stupid enough to do it again?

Knowing what you know about Boehner, do you really believe that the wanted to win? Would you characterize him as a "small government" republican?

A picture of some sad guy handing his wife his wallet would be more appropriate.

Would a house key suffice the wallet?

RE: Boehner surrenders.
Boehner never really fought the fight. He merely went along with Cruz and
whoever were doing it to show support. It's far from over. Obama will
continue with his socialist agenda and this will all continue to be a problem.
Kicking the can down the road was not good for either party, and certainly
is not what anyone wanted.

Firm, our country is no better off with Reid not allowing anything the house passes to be voted on. 17 Trillion, and no plan to stop spending and increases.
One day all of us are going to pay.

The timing is all wrong. Everyone is down with lowing the debt. The problem is that the republicans chose the economic downturn to do it.

We as a country should be lowering the debt when the economy is strong, not weak.

Why didn't they do it when the economy was strong in Bush's first term in office.

Doing it now is simply misguided and makes them out to look like they are just trying to spite Obama.

Seems as if 9/11 and having several buildings in NYC brought down was the start of it not being a
possibility to lower the debt. Then fighting Islamic terrorists in several countries had some to do with it.

Not to mention the sh*thole we turned into in 2006 when the left wouldn't let Bush pass anything out of spite. That was ok though, it's only wrong if it happens to a lefty.

Waste of time. Wouldn't pass anyway. Going to conference and not putting abortion, gay marriage, sharia law amendments would help though.

Hell, no wonder McConnell wanted this to get passed..

Kentucky project in the bill for $2B

Quote:“The McConnell-Reid bill not only funds Obamacare and suspends the debt limit, it ALSO includes a provision in Section 123 that increases the authorization for the Olmsted Lock in Kentucky from $775 million to nearly $3 billion,” the Senate Conservatives Fund notes.

Don't give me that BS excuse that McConnell didn't know it was in the bill. Its' bull**** like this that is why the GOP will never be taken seriously by the grassroots voters... EVER

Okay, it looks like McConnell only takes a third of the blame for the Kentucky Porkbarrel... as Lamarr Alexander and Feinstein are taking credit for that item... (but McConnell never asked to have it removed).

RE: Boehner surrenders.
I don't get this at all. The GOP had Reid and Obama saying they would not negotiate PERIOD! The GOP was willing to fund everything and the democrats were the ones being the party of NO (as Rob likes to put it) I said this last week, if I was Boehner I would have put bills out there to fund all of government except Obamacare and then sent everyone home until Reid and Obama signed off on them. I would also have every GOP member go on every talk show they could possibly get on and tell them just what I said.

I also would tell every member to take on the press and ask them why they support a president who has the ability to open government but won't. I would have been hostile.
