Why can you use the EBT to buy a decorated cake? You could buy 6 cake mixes and tubs of frosting for the cost on one bakery baked cake.

Cops around here said it was like Black Friday but worse... My first initial thought was "black Saturday."

+1. It won't take much for the "give me free stuff, you owe me" crowd to resort to stealing and somehow think it's okay.

It will quickly become survival of the most ruthless. I guess if we all turn in our guns, all will be well. We know that the criminal element will all be first to willingly un-arm themselves. You know - our police will protect everyone and all these businesses from being victimized. No problem.

We've already seen this in Greece and other parts of the world.

Anyone stupid enough to think it won't happen here needs to be removed from the gene pool.

For starters, I know of 65,915,796 people that need to be removed from the gene pool...

We went through the second largest economic downturn in united states history and kept unemployment to a 3rd as it was under the worst, brought back the stock market to greater than pre-recession levels in 1/6th of the time it took us after the great depression, and had crime continue on it's downward slide to historical lows.

Just in case you all forgot just how well that 'non-welfare state' collapse turned out for the US.

So you think they can just print an extra trillion dollars a year and pump it into the markets forever? And the stock market being up, just where would you think that "extra trillion" dollars will go? I guess we'll find out how long it will last. Besides, the "freebie class" was never cutoff. If that happens all hell will break loose.

I was at Food Lion when they announced the issue... one of those times I was glad to be armed.

Man the day I need my gun to feel safe in a Food Lion is the day I trade in my balls for a purse.

By the way you talk, you've already made that transition. No sense in trying to act like you havent.

One of you against one rioter, sure you can defend yourself with no weapon. In a full on riot like in 1968, you'd really want a gun.

But since you are likely 23-24 years old you have no understanding of the size of a true riot.

UCF fails to understand that you may need a gun in what you consider AT THE TIME to be the safest place in the world...

Don't want to be anywhere near a Walmart riot! That is simply a frightening thought.

It's just like a stampede, you gotta move laterally.

The aisles at Walmart are too tight to move laterally.

I think you mean the people at wal-mart are too wide.

Gotta agree with this. One of the main reasons I will go out of my way to shop at Costco instead of Sams Club is the stark and drastic differences between how they go about compensating their employees. And I love Costco for showing that it's possible to pay your retail workers a fair wage with benefits, and make up that cost on limiting employee turnover and employee motivation.
