RE: Walmart customers riot when unable to use EBT cards - WoodlandsOwl - 10-13-2013 08:31 PM I think it was more mass shoplifting than a Riot. What's the 65 year old woman watching the door going to do when a mass of people walk out? I don't think they have the authority to actually stop anybody. RE: Walmart customers riot when unable to use EBT cards - No Bull - 10-14-2013 08:23 AM do you think they used Obama phones to call other people to this riot? I want my Obamaphone! RE: Walmart customers riot when unable to use EBT cards - UConn-SMU - 10-14-2013 08:43 AM This "riot" foreshadows what is to come. When the whole federal government/welfare state finally collapses, things will get ugly fast. RE: Walmart customers riot when unable to use EBT cards - Lord Stanley - 10-14-2013 09:18 AM How dare poor people shop at Walmart! Don't they know they are supporting low wages and sweatshops and urban sprawl and non-organic foods and Monsanto and global warming? RE: Walmart customers riot when unable to use EBT cards - EagleRockCafe - 10-14-2013 09:19 AM Two more cities have Wal Mart stores ransacked by mobs. Using state funded programs to supplement your compensation structure makes me sick. It won't take much for the "give me free stuff, you owe me" crowd to resort to stealing and somehow think it's okay. It will quickly become survival of the most ruthless. I guess if we all turn in our guns, all will be well. We know that the criminal element will all be first to willingly un-arm themselves. You know - our police will protect everyone and all these businesses from being victimized. No problem. RE: Walmart customers riot when unable to use EBT cards - Niner National - 10-14-2013 09:51 AM In this instance, Wal-Mart is just as much in the wrong as the people taking advantage of the situation. Wal-Mart knew what was going on and thought they'd exploit it for their gain. I hope they're not compensated for the food bought/stolen when the limits were temporarily gone. Both parties should be ashamed of themselves, but I'm sure nobody involved is. Just tells you the quality of the people living free off of other people's hard work. Me and my GF were laughing abou t this last night... Not because it's so pathetic that there's enough people on EBT cards to completely empty two entire Walmarts, or because one woman had $700.00 worth of groceries just before the glitch was fixed, therefore exposing her card having on .49 cents... Man, you give these hoodrats an inch and they take a mile... And "so many people depend on these food stamps"... Horrible. RE: Walmart customers riot when unable to use EBT cards - mptnstr@44 - 10-14-2013 01:58 PM Locally, there was a woman with an EBT card complaining because she was unable to buy a store baked/decorated birthday cake for her grandson and ice cream with her EBT when the system went down. Why can you use the EBT to buy a decorated cake? You could buy 6 cake mixes and tubs of frosting for the cost on one bakery baked cake. |
