Ever since the Single Payer option was forced out of the ACA by the Republican Party, I have been against the ACA. I am not happy with the fact I am REQUIRED to get healthcare. But hey, I'm not happy I HAVE sign up for selective service. It's a law, whether you like it or not.

I want Single Payer. Period.

It's getting to the point, and our costs are so high for so little, that I'm leaning towards saying F-it and going down the wholly owned government road.

The ACA is a poorly written bill and it will drive up costs for little return. Our current system merely shafts the working poor and stiffing anybody it can for returns for shareholders.

The only downside, ****** healthcare. I grew up in countries with National Health Services and can't say they are impressive. If you have something odd and serious wrong with you, God help you.

If it were up to me, I'd be pushing for massive overhauls of the healthcare insurance industry and strict and decisive rules and laws. Let' be honest, it's an industry that makes money by betting on dying folks.

Of course I am getting worried. I am worried how much longer I will keep my job once the tea baggers kill the world economy. Where I work now is really slow and if the world economy collapses, I will likely be out of a job. I believe that the tea bagger politicians know they are cornered and the only option they have left is to fight and that is a dangerous situation for the country to be in.

Agreed. Single payer is better than this ****, but I'm sure that actually making significant changes to the malpractice laws would have done more to actually help make healthcare more affordable than the ACA.

As a lawyer I have to say that tort reform is an overpaid hand. It's very little of the whole equation and it only further shafts people.

Texas has done a lot of tort reform. The result, the inability to sue when a hospital 'forgets' to provide pain medication after a major surgery and the doctor went home and turned his phone off.

Torts are the only real thing that forces hospitals, and industries, to improve. Tort reform is part of what has allowed our healthcare industry to run away and be the stinking pile of crap it is.

Like my Dad told me when I was a kid, "I'm not rich enough for the Republicans to care and I'm not poor enough for the Democrats."

You've already done damage to Voter Rights.

The Affordable Care Act has been rejected by the majority of America. The Affordable Care Act is doomed. The Affordable Care Act will not remain the law. The Affordable Care Act has little chance of being fully implemented.

The Affordable Care Act is anything but affordable.

Really? Where is your proof that the ACA is opposed by the majority of Americans?

To your second point, I have looked at HealthCare.gov for Kentucky and most of the plans I have seen have looked very affordable.

Most Americans are finding out it is much much more expensive with less coverage.

Why not? Can't handle the truth? I work at a company that for the most part sells non-essential products for consumers(mainly from Japanese and Korean companies that are made in China). The world economy goes down, the company I work for at a minimum lays off a bunch of people at worst goes under. Either way, my job would be in jeopardy- and good luck finding a job in a crashed world economy.

I'm going out on a limb here and say you are among the libertarian movement who still thinks it's productive to bash both sides....when one side is clearly giving you what you want. I directed you to an article that discusses just that in a previous thread.

We don't need that right now. What is naive is thinking a third party candidate can win an election with less than 3 percent of the electorate. It's also naive to think we still have time to window shop and bicker. Look at your alternative to the GOP.

Instead of continuing the nay saying, how about holding the Democrats accountable for creating the fiscal issue.....and forcing Obamacare on the populace.

What destroys the US and world economy is your psychotic believe that 17 trillion in debt is not a concern and we can just up that on up to 20 and 25 trillion more and more government spending on every aspect of american life. NOw you want to tack another 1/6th of the US economy onto that tab. And anyone disagreeing with you gets showered with insults and childish trolling.

You really are insane
