Always makes me more and more jealous when I see this talk going on...we are stuck in the Liberty Bowl forever!! They have done a great job making it nicer and Tiger Lane is great for tailgating but to me the crown jewel of every campus is their football stadium. Memphis has made a ton of upgrades to their campus but no one ever sees it unless you go to school there.

That's the major challenge for UM's President...in trying to get their alumni BACK to campus...as the #1 and #2 largest events for the Univ (Football and Basketball games) are both held OFF-CAMPUS.

I remember being at Hueys at our last Liberty Bowl...spoke to a Memphis alum (looked to be in his early 40's) and asked him when the last time he was back on UM's campus, his reply was "I can't remember the last time I was on campus".

Every study shows that alumni that COME BACK to campus and stay connected to their campus are much more likely to donate $$$$ back to the Univ general academic funds.

You can't beat GAME DAY on your campus...you just can't beat it. (Even on-campus big basketball games help make campuses come alive).

Good looking updates. I'd like to go to a game there one day.

^ this. The renderings look great and the money the new premium seats bring in will definitely help the department.

other than upgrading the cramped concession/bathroom areas (which pissed folks off and was a detractor to coming to a game) the main reason for all of this wasn't to add seats, but to add seats that bring in the big bucks, ala club level, loge level, luxury suites...which Nippert never had. We could have just added general seating and gotten it to around 50K capacity but it would have all been general seating. This gets us to 40K+ and more importantly has the big time seats that bring in corporations and big donors. They are selling VERY well right now and looks like it's a win already. Plus the upgrades to make the general experience more enjoyable for the common fan will help too. It's going to be a HOMERUN.

Yes it is. I can't wait to see the final product. It will look great looking at it from the east stands as well.
