This is an impressive troll job. He knew exactly what fan bases to go after and did it. Good work.

lol, me and bonds agree on something! 04-jawdrop

+1 to both of you. What a sad, small-minded thread this is.

I think the first 4 schools "in" will be air force, colorado state, byu & utah state. the rest get added in a chain reaction conference realignment style move over a course of days, weeks, months, or even a year.

I don't think the P5 is splitting off anyway. I'll believe it when I see it.

I think an ECU program with a ranking in the 150s and selling out a 60K stadium and the NC market puts them into the acceptable range for SEC consideration since we really want into NC but the odds of any TR school leaving the ACC is very unlikely.

That's what i'm talking about. No doubt in my mind in the SEC we would avg 60k NEXT YEAR in the SEC. If the SEC wants 60k before that, well we some work to do.

Ecu stepping up academics is the best thing it can do for itself right now. Building academics and making improvements in athletics are not mutually exclusive. I hope we can emphasize heavily in both areas.

The AAC needs to consider an intermediate term in which they expand to 14-16 teams considering Buffalo, NIU, Toledo, maybe WKU or UMass.

ECU is a nice school but I don't see the SEC going after them. They can be the football school of North Carolina but no way the SEC would go for the 3rd or 4th choice in that state. That and the name itself. If instead of East Carolina it would be called North Carolina Tech then I could see it but ECU in the SEC would be like Cincinnati in the SEC. Why would the SEC settle for second or third place and be overshadow by the ACC of all conferences? If the SEC can't get either UNC or NC State I'm sure they can wait until the GoR expires or until a better option comes along (a la A&M and Missouri).

i was gonna say pretty much the exact same thing. however plenty of people already think im trolling ecu too hard.

you are absolutely right though. theres NO WAY the university of alabama wants to be associated with eastern carolina.

besides texas in the swc/b12 I cant think of any other power conference that had 3 state schools from the same state. and none of those schools were ever called "east texas". a state school having a direction in its name is something that gets associated with mid-majors. large state schools like representing the entire state. they dont want to be associated with schools who represent only part of their state.

the E in ECU is by far its biggest turnoff.

I stopped reading at page 10. I hate Cincinnati. There is no love lost between me and the Bearcats...but even I recognize that they stand a far better chance at getting into D4 than half the teams listed in this moron's "Group A"

i keep saying this over and over.....

which school does cincy have to lean on for support?

which politician in ohio will rally around cincy without the other 7 FBS schools in that state causing a ruckus

what does cincy offer that hasnt already been added to the p5????

how many p5 schools are the 4th best public university in their state?

cincy is one of the best g5 programs, but being the best program doesnt give you a spot

catdaddy, I have to read everything, since I'm moderating this forum. But I'm kind of looking forward to seeing john get verbose on the subject, since he seems to be putting a lot of time into it. It'll probably be interesting seeing his viewpoint, whether it's right or wrong...
