Let's be honest. None of us know who is going to do what. Predictions are arbitrary at this point.

Well, history tells me that the more the UTEP fball season stinks, the better our bball season turns out.....

This tells me our bball should be challenging L-Ville for the national championship.

RE: Anyone up for making CUSA basketball predictions?
I wrote a quick and dirty algorithm over the summer to predict the conference in basketball based on two main inputs: what you did last year and who you have coming back. Here's what it gave me, broken into three main groups.

1. Southern Miss
2. Louisiana Tech
3. UTEP
4. MTSU

<gap>

5. UAB
6. Charlotte
7. East Carolina
8. Tulsa
9. FIU
10. Marshall

<gap>

11. Tulane
12. Rice
13. FAU
14. North Texas
15. Old Dominion
16. UTSA

I think the resuls are reasonable. This season should be a lot of fun. I think any of the top 8 could win the league.

2. Boardingham dominates...let me say it again....Boardingham dominates
3. SJ 'posts' that unequivocally proves ECU basketball has conquered the world

Tulsa will be better this year. Min 20 wins likely more. Last year we simply did not have enough players period. This year we have a full team. Not a huge amount of depth yet, but we can get that.

My Top-10:

1. Southern Miss (NCAA Bid) (regular season champs)
2. Louisiana Tech (NCAA Bid)
3. MT (NIT)
4. UTEP (NIT)
5. Charlotte (conference tourney champs) (NCAA auto-bid) (yes, I'm biased)
6. UAB
7. Tulsa
8. ECU
9. Marshall
10. FIU

I picked us 4th, behind your team. I don't think that's unreasonalbe.

PG Robinson 6-4 175...Top 20 JUCO/MVP of 30-2 team
SG Richmond 6-0 185...16ppg in 28 minutes the last 13 games
SF Straughn 6-6 220...Redshirt, 2 year returning starter
PF Armstrong 6-9 245..11ppg, 5.8rpg 56% in conf play in only 22 minutes
C Guilmette 6-10 250...4ppg in only 13 minutes a game on 52%

6th Campbell 6-3 185....Starter last year 36% from 3

Richmond and Armstrong were easily two of the most productive players in CUSA last year. Both should get 30-35 minutes this year and most of Kemp and Paul's shots. Averaging 15-20ppg isn't a stretch for either them this year, when they were both getting 10+ppg last year in only 20 minutes even with Kemp and Paul eating up usage.

We got the best inside outside combo in the Conference with Richmond and Armstrong, and Richmond hit 3's at the highest pace in NCAA history last year. Straughn started over Kemp & on a solid ECU team in Lebo's first year and is our best defender and fits nicely with them, and Guilmette is big and was productive last year when on the court as well. There is enough to be in the conversation. Plenty of size, shooting and experience there.

You are a trip man. I actually reading your posts for both content and humor. I gotta jab ya every 'now and then' for giggles 04-cheers You are iconic.

Like all predictions, they are just predictions. Last year, USM was picked to finish close to the cellar by all pontiffs. It is not unreasonable to expect ECU to finish in the top half this year regardless of what the so-called media experts predict.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if you guys finished somewhere in the top 4. It would surprise me more if you finished in the 8-10 spot as some are predicting.

UAB and Southern Miss should be the front runners next season for the conference. UAB's roster is loaded with seniors, and they don't have the "Memphis Complex" hanging over their heads this time...No excuses to not be in contention, they need to get it done this year!

UTEP?

We managed to beat Utep the last 2 seasons with a .500 team. We get them at home, more concerned with them if we play in C-USA tournament against them.

Hmmm....Not as strong as they were when Barbee was there. But everytime they play UAB, the game winds up going into 50 OT's!!!! What do the Miners look like this heading into this season?

You should be concerned with playing UTEP regardless of venue.
