Yes, but to be fair - this one is really just a product of the Texas "educational" system. 05-duck

Was it espn that had a "map" of schools and they had uconn in massachusetts and cincinatti in northern ohio(among other mistakes)?

so much for proof reading. I guess its all done by computers now

To be fair, CT isn't really a state, so they weren't entirely wrong about putting UCONN in MA. CT is really part NY and part MA, much like NJ also isn't really a state. It's NY continued (north) and PA continued (south) and the biggest/most important civil war in American history (middle NJ).

As someone who lives in central NJ I don't quite follow you on this one.

It was actually the NY Post. The NY Post is only suitable for wrapping fish or covertly bringing a Hustler home on the subway with.

I'd rather be seen bringing the Hustler home.

Depends on what country you learn about it in... Some countries teach you that there are 57 states.

RE: NY media declares the Carolina vs South Carolina was an IN-STATE rivalry
I blame the Carolinas for all the confusion... NY is pro team orientated and the pro teams here market themselves to fans on both sides of the border by calling themselves the Carolina Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes; it throws the rest of the country off a little!

Then there are the schools --> North Carolina (UNC), East Carolina (ECU), Western Carolina (WCU), and South Carolina (USC). To someone that doesn't live around or follow them closely... which state is ECU and WCU in? I've lived here 3 years and still have no idea where WCU is, besides realizing its part of the UNC system.

If you blur the lines with marketing, then others on the outside will blur the lines too!

You left out a few, like:
North Carolina A&T
North Carolina Central
and how about South Carolina State?

BTW, Western Carolina University is located in Cullowhee, NC, and East Carolina University is located in Greenville, NC (which is not to be confused with Greenville, SC which is only 20 miles from Clemson).

Umm I don't totally agree, may be Jersey City, West New York, Hoboken, and northern burbs are an extension of NYC... the rest eh... its more like weekend beach time for folks from NYC and Philly.

Plus - learn a map... because it'd be extension of NY south and west (as NY city sits to the East of Jersey and the Hudson Valley & upstate sit to the North); while PA would continue east (as NJ/PA share most of Jersey's entire western border along the Delaware River). Just saying!

*You can disagree all you want, but it's pretty common knowledge. I can assure you that this isn't my theory. I have no idea how you haven't stumbled across this before, but, in the words of Fox Mulder, the truth is out there. Keep searching.

*If you take your own advice and review the map carefully, you will notice a city right next to the north part of NJ called New York and that city right next to the south part of NJ called Philadelphia.

As a native of the great state of New Jersey I have to say that while the residents watch the TV networks from those two cities and root for those sports teams they most definitely don't consider themselves New Yorkers or Philladelphites? Philladelphians? Philladelphifiles? I don't know what they call themselves. They consider themselves Jersey Boys and Jersey Girls. There is a deep seeded pride and defense mechanism built up over decades of jokes about us from our jealous neighbors who make fun of us until they make enough money to move to jersey and our vastly superior public school system and higher median household income. They hate us because we have the beaches and better schools. Not to mention the tomatoes and corn and no sales tax on clothes.

That's because after all these year Charlotte's NFL team is still trying to insist that they are the team for both Carolinas.

Well, they do hold training camp in SC, so there's that.
