Dude...y'all we're 5-7 last year. I want to say Kent State won 11 or 12 games. What planet are you on?

Getting 4 star recruits, OK. You've had 2 4 star recruits since 2012. Nick Smith in 2012 and Anthony Davis is still just a verbal commitment so far. So really you have only had 1 4 star commit sign.
For the most part ECU, UCF, Cincy, Houston and Tulsa will beat you each time you play. UConn and SMU are a mystery. Memphis and Tulane will be toss up games with Temple.
What the heck does overall record have to do with anything? That's not stopping Kentucky, Vandy, Rutgers, etc.
Who the heck is Nick Smith? Nate Smith, Anthony Davis, and Aaron Ruff are all 4* recruits on at least one site. Not to mention all the other recruits we've gotten with equally as good offers. Anthony Davis is firmly committed to Temple and is not going to decommit.
There's significant investment in Temple Football. Too much to not succeed.

Temple basketball > Marshall football
....and the only reason Marshall gets these kids is b/c they're willing to admit literally anyone.

Not true. We'll take a limited number of kids (maybe 1-3 a year) that's borderline academically and end up as non-qualifiers. In the end, its ultimately up to the student/athlete if they succeed or not. They must come here on their own dime to try and get there academic standing up to par before they can be on a roster or participate in any practices etc. A few make it, but most don't.
To say that's the only reason we get good kids is totally false and you know it. Especially considering we may take 1-3 of these type kids a year out of a normal 25 kids in a normal recruiting season.
Marshall has a lot to offer. Its a nice town with a good climate and a beautiful campus. Cool night life. We also have a nice track record of putting players in the NFL and a supportive fan base and tradition.
And one more thing blunderbuss.......don't be acting all "high and mighty" academically because ECU takes "non-qualifiers" as well. Justin Dixon, Marty Williams, Alfy Hill are recent non-qualifiers that ECU has taken in.

Temple is the worst FBS football school in the history of college football. "Nuff said.

And we're in a better conference than you. That really says a lot about the perception and value of Marshall.

He does recruit West Virginia. You have to realize two very important factors:
1. There are very, very few D1 prospects that come out of West Virginia. It is a very small state, and the largest high schools are still quite small in many cases. I know for my own high school, Bridgeport, has transitioned between AA and AAA in the past, only had 500-600 kids in the whole school. Excellent football tradition but very few D1 players. The largest city in West Virginia only has about 55,000 people.
2. West Virginia and Marshall go after the same players. WVU is drummed into kids' heads from birth in almost all parts of the state. A true D1 star is more likely to choose WVU.

Not really that much better considering that the AAC, like CUSA is on the outside looking in. At least Marshall is in the title hunt for its conference, unlike Temple, who will likely continue to be a perennial cellar-dweller.
Also, the only reason Temple is even in the AAC is because of Philadelphia (who doesn't really care about Temple Football), not anything they've done on the field.
Over Temple's entire history, they have finished ranked once (17) and gone to 4 bowl games (2-2). In contrast, Marshall has finished ranked 3 times since its move to FBS in 1997 (10, 21, 19), and gone to 9 bowl games in that same period (7-2).

Why do you keep pointing at our history? Do you think schools like Vandy, Kentucky, and Rutgers are worried about that? Does it bother you that you'll always be stuck in CUSA?

Doesn't bother me at all. I'd rather be in CUSA vs the American. The geography of CUSA sets up more favorably for us in CUSA. That's a no-brainer considering CUSA has the same level of access to a major bowl that the American has.
A quick comparison of Marshall vs Temple football....
Marshall:
12 Conference Titles
3 Heisman Trophy Finalists
10 Bowl games (7-3 record)
44 All-Americans
3 Top 25 finishes
1 Top 10 Finish
5 College football hall of fame members
Temple:
1 Conference Title
0 Heisman Trophy Finalists
4 bowl games (2-2 record)
1 All-American
1 Top 25 ranking
0 Top 10 ranking
3 College football hall of fame members
Any questions?

Hmm? You lost me on that one. Heisman trophy finalists, top 25's, top 10 ranking, undefeated season, bowl games participation are NOT FCS achievements..... those are FBS achievements.
I didn't include the 2 National Championships since they are FCS.

Most of those All-Americans and Conference titles are FCS. Much of that list is FCS. Either way, you're still better than Temple.

I think we only won the So Con 5 times. As for All Americans, it think we produced about 27 while in 1AA. Stiil, our 1AA teams would have slaughtered Temple for the most part. But I see your point. And I'm no kool aid drinker.

Our 96 team would slaughter any team Temple has ever had. Hell, our 96 team would probably slaughter an all-time Temple team. I mean.. Temple. lol. Really?
