3rd biggest program?

It amazes me when those like Sentell have no problems as long as those other 2 schools are at the top of everything, but the first mention of UAB being at the top they get their panties in a wad.

Of course, as always the writer fails to do any research.

Houston has committed to Moo U and we have 2 commitments already.

Clip from article >>>

But there’s a potentially cool story brewing down in Alabama, because the “Fab Five” — the crop of elite recruits in Alabama’s 2014 class, Justin Coleman (Rivals No. 92), Riley Norris (No. 95 Rivals), William Lee (Rivals No. 125), Isaac Haas (No. 58 Rivals) and Demetrius Houston — could all end up enrolling at the same school, and it looks like that school could end up being UAB

Awesome - the more hype and publicity the better.

Yeah, because UK, Duke, and UNC don't know about these kids now. The UAB inferiority complex is alive and well.

1. The hype currently is centered on them attending UAB
2. It shows that they can be in the spotlight, even at UAB
3. It shows that UAB still has national appeal.
4. Other recruits might be interested in UAB because of the hype.
5. It makes them seem/feel special as a group.
6. You can't hide talent

Kentucky isn't after one of these guys. Kentucky goes for top 25 players who are headed straight to the NBA. Not one of these guys fits that mold.

The numbers aren't there for UAB to take all of those listed in the article.

Haas, Lee, & Coleman would be a nice pickup if that is who we end up getting out of the bunch.

No problems with getting Norris if he decides though.

Mitchell is an outside shot as well as Purifoy (no relation)

Castlin also would be an outside shot.

It would be great if UAB could pull this off, but, if any of these schools take a run at any of those guys, I'll be 04-jawdrop if they all say 05-nono & stay here, it would be a huge booster shot to the program and the fan base...I think this is one major reason why UAB hasn't drawn as well at home as they should for games other than M-----s(j/k) & Southern Miss, if there were more impact players from this city or state on that roster, locals would be more inclined to show up...

Is there any certainty at this point that all of these fine players will be able to attend their choice of D1 schools? The major BB powers listed above have very high admission standards and are not likely to risk signing a player and have him not get admitted (having passed on some other choice recruit on their short list). UAB might like to sign them all, but they all still have a year of high school to work through before they can enter a D1 college. We have seen a "slip 'tween cup and lip" in the past.

I posted that article on the C-USA board yesterday.

http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=641436

This is beyond eye-popping. I wish you guys well and hope you can land them all. I'll admit that I was a little surprised at the dismissal of Mike Davis but certainly no longer question it.

All I ask is that UAB fans not act like idiots... don't message or attempt contact with recruits, don't start crap with other schools' fans over player recruitment, and just be cool... let the coaches do their jobs and you do yours as fans by buying season tickets, making donations, and showing up to make Bartow Arena a deafening pit of despair for visiting teams.

While the publicity is good, it could be bad if it sets up an expectation that does not get met.

If everyone is expecting five, and Haase signs two, its not a failure but some will spin it as such.

I dont tweet the players. And if the option of asking anonymous questions is there, I dont mention other schools or Uab. I retweet just about everything that mentions UAB.

I will be happy with any five that Haase gets.
