Heery Report
Go Tigers......
Yes and consultant also convinced Lakeland that a 1/2 cent sales tax would build a school system. Consultants package spending money to justify the money spent to hire them.
I want an OCS but first we need a faithful fan base to support it more than a repackaged report.

How about providing free bus service to all of the students from the campus to the stadium? Make it an event and drive the students up to the front gate. The students will make it fun and encourage others to follow.
Been done.

RE: On Campus Stadium NOW!
were going to need a lot more donors and more money before we get an OCS....this puts our fundraising in perspective under our past leadership as well as our fans being able to or wanting to give money

Vision, strong leadership, and no ussypays and it can be done. Or constant nasal whining about what can't be done achieves just that.

An on campus stadium would be awesome.
If I win the lottery, consider it done. Otherwise, it's not happening.

Not quite..it's the wife's family's money....tied to some little-known big-box discount retailing chain.

Hopefully one of these days Bostontiger will become a billionaire and put his money where his mouth is. But since he lives in the People's Republic of New England I doubt that's happening anytime soon.

Yawn. Has anyone got a count on how many threads the big 3 have and which one leads? Might be fun to keep a running tally.

Here we have our university propping-up the Liberty Bowl stadium by being the tenant who makes the bowl game and all other events at the Liberty Bowl stadium possible, yet decisions continually use the resources of our university without due consideration to our university. Personally I have been sick of it for 50 years or more (and even longer but I wasn't around to know) since our university first became the means by which the city could make it feasible to build Crump Stadium. Thereafter the same logic for the Mid-south Coliseum, the initial expansion to the Cook Convention Center, Memphis Memorial Stadium (Liberty Bowl), the Pyramid & the FedX forum. Without the funds provided by our university none of those facilities would have been built.
IT'S TIME TO MOVE OUR ACTIVITIES TO ON-CAMPUS FACILITIES!. We need to get an on-campus stadium and basketball facility in the university long term plan - an it needs to be done now! I'm with GA on this one.....
The Tigers have had about 30+ years of opportunities to make it to the Liberty Bowl and have yet to qualify. New conference, new places to go, let's move on.

So the AAC wanted to send their CHAMPION to the LB? If true that right there says a lot.

i think that their champion when they are not in the playoff. if we have a team in the AAC that goes 12-0...there would be a good shot in getting one of the 4 spots in the playoff scenerio

We make it to the Liberty Bowl stadium about 6 times a year - and pay our way and the way for the Liberty Bowl game and other events to have a place to play - off our backs. It's time we say no more, build OC facilities and let the city, the Liberty Bowl org and any others needing a place to play to foot the bill for their events.
