RE: The Dude is at it again................
From his short lived radio show, the Dude clearly had some good connections. But he just didn't understand any of it. He belatedly realized he'd been used by some of the sources and it was apparently pretty easy. There was one time he really had me shaking my head. He made a comment about the Big 12 TV contract that made it clear he understood nothing about it. He had at the time been writing about Big 12 expansion for about a year. Big 12 expansion with ACC schools was possible only because of that contract, but somehow he still didn't understand the contract at all.

I don't think equal revenue sharing is an issue for UT. Their budget is ~$150 million. ~$20 million comes from the B12. Say UT was able to leverage another $5 or $10 million from the B12 (or P12) through some sort of unequal revenue sharing. Not a small sum but it would not have a major impact on their budget. They are better off going with equal revenue sharing and not p-o-ing their conference mates.
The second time the issue came up it was just after the Aggies announced their departure.

"Dud, I sez." I think we have missed the whole point of the dude. He hasn't been after just hits. At every turn, with every rumor, there has been a tag in the information designed to ingratiate him to the West Virginia fan base. In all of his rumors enemies and past snubbers of the Mountaineers have been facing imminent demise. West Virginia is always going to be just fine no matter what chaos befalls the world around them. The dude is a guy who wants to be loved by his fellow fans. His posts are not about the Big 12, the ACC, the SEC, or the Big 10. His posts are about bolstering every dream scenario possibly shared by Mountaineers.

I don't blame WVU for this mess, just one kid in need of attention.

That aside realignment is not over. It may take a 2, 7, or 12 year break but money will buy more movement eventually. When it happens it will be a game of round up the usual suspects. Until then I'm sure we haven't heard the last from the Dud of West Virginia, Eerlaw, or Tuxedo Yoda.

He admitted that he wanted to spread "disinformation" to destabilize and shake up the ACC.

He has an intense hatred of the ACC due to its snub of WVU.

He was and is clearly agenda driven. It was a sort of one man crusade against the ACC. He was tilting at windmills.

All of his "insider information" were bits and pieces of crap he picked up (some with a bit of truth, some bogus and some given to him by people playing him for the stooge he is) then spun by him towards the worst case ACC scenario.

His latest message is the fallout from his being so very and completely wrong about the ACC and the agreement regarding its GOR.

He now realizes that he was totally wrong, used by others and made himself into a laughingstock.

This is his latest "final" spin on things.

No need for me to read the article to know the ACC is already the winner. WVU, on the other hand....

RE: The Dude is at it again................
Having read both Frank's most recent article on Bleacher Report and The Dude's ramblings...
I wish there was a way to make the following "final" movements in the realignment game.

UVA to Big Ten...UConn to the ACC. ACC set at 14.
Mizzou to Big Ten...WVU to the SEC. SEC set at 14.
Big Ten set at 16.
BYU to the Big 12.

They aren't seismic changes...they don't destroy the fabric of any current conference (as UNC leaving the ACC, Texas-Kansas-Oklahoma leaving the Big 12, or anyone leaving the SEC). Yet, they get UConn in a major conference...get WVU in a conference that makes sense...get Mizzou and UVA in my conference04-rock...get BYU in a conference that makes sense...

I don't think realignment will ever die (even if its dormant for a decade) but I wish this aftershock would hit before dormancy...

I think if one goes to 16 they will all go to 16! so try and figure that out because that is the problem here. because they all want major league schools with major league names and money behind them.

Screw that...the B1G can grab someone else besides UVA. UVA is crtical to the ACC's Footprint. Grab Cincy, UConn or USF/UCF.

Even that gives him way too much credit Terry. He really is just a kid that found some notoriety by misusing an internet tool and very few contacts. He was admittedly working on a Zombie book before realignment hit. In the old days he would have been vetted and never would have come into the public spotlight.

People follow The Dude for the same reason they watch Cheaters, Jersey Shore and any other trash TV. The train wreck of drama is entertaining.

Honestly, I don't think that he believed anything that he wrote. He just wanted hits and attention. I wonder how much money he made off of selling advertising space on his site. I doubt he got rich, but I bet he made a decent amount.

He didn't make anything until he got into his last couple of sites. And that wasn't until things were dying down.

Why are so many of you so obsessed with him and talking $hit about him? Honestly, who cares what he says and why has this thread gone 6 pages with people talking trash about him? That is just pathetic.
