RE: Re-thinking 16. UMASS and ARMY
Why is this not in the Smack Board yet? These ECU trolls are detailing thread after thread and no one seems to care.

That's SJ logic. Use whatever you can use to make you point. It doesn't matter if it is flawed, incomplete, or irrelevant, just so long as it appears to make sense.
It's about like him arguing that ECU had a better basketball team then Charlotte this past season even though they lost to Charlotte, lost more games than Charlotte, had fewer D-1 wins than Charlotte, and had a conference record 1 game better than Charlotte while playing in a much easier conference.

Even if you took them out and and let you have your Louisville's it would be
AAC 32
CUSA 6
It doesn't matter where you beat schools like West Virginia or Louisville, those are big wins and they still got them. None of those teams you add would have ever had more than an upset here or there like UConn and Cincy did. Programs from one conference can beat big 5 teams, programs form another conference can't. That's just the bottomline.

I didn't write the RPI formula. I didn't write Sagarin's rankings, I didn't write Pomory's either. At the end of the season we certainly finished stronger the last 2 months than they did and had a higher ranking in every major ranking system. That's what I said and it's true.
Quote:even though they lost to Charlotte
The first week of December. 1/35 of the season.
Quote:lost more games than Charlotte
Not true
Quote:had fewer D-1 wins than Charlotte
and overall more overall wins even if you don't want to count them like the NCAA. The RPI, Pomroy, and Sagarin do not and that's fine. They all ranked us better.
Quote:and had a conference record 1 game better than Charlotte while playing in a much easier conference.
Half a season. There are things like OOC and postseason that certainly factor into a successful season last I checked.

Why SJ? Why? Do the pissing matches ever get old to you? Why not join the rest of us on the AAC board?
