I don't see how College of William and Mary have the pitching to beat NC State twice.

Let's take care of Oregon first. They look to have their offense going this afternoon. Need a great game from Simms and need our offense to jump on them early.

You don't understand. Chronologically W&M plays earlier than we do. Pulling for them later is illogical (See Mr. Spock). We pull for them now, before the Rice game begins. We don't wait to see if we are going to a winner first before we begin to cheer for another team. Their game will be over by then. What is the point of cheering then?

There is no need. We can multitask. We all cheer how and when we like.

Good point, Elf. I suspect if we get past Oregon, we will be able to take NC State. But the big pole in the tent is Oregon.

Our guys will need their A games.

Of course as much as I would love to watch our boys play in Houston next week, I have no problem watching on TV if they can play in Raleigh next week.

Ah, that is a very good point. I have my magical lucky shirt and socks. To each his providential ritual.

FSU and Troy trading leads in Tallahassee: Now 5-3 in B4.
Louisville extends their lead to 7-3 over OkSt in T8.
Still 3-0 NC State over W+M going to T4
Elon leads UVa 2-0 in T3.

In retrospect, I didn't mean to be getting ahead of myself, which I inadvertantly did, by even bringing up W&M. I'm just nervously passing the time until our game begins. I am wracked with fear and optimism in equal proportions. No pessimism.

Louisville scores some more, clearing their bases, plus... now 11-3 in T8. 2 outs and runner on 2d.

W+M threatened a 2-out rally in T4 but left runners on the corners.

Austin Peay hits what would have been the game-tying 3-run HR in T2, but instead the Hoosier in CF reaches over the fence and brings it back, then doubles off the runner at 1st.

W+M need 7 in the T9 to stay alive, but are sitting at 2 outs, so it's unlikely... and now it's over. NCState moves on.

UNC has tying run on 1st with no outs in T9.

UNC gets caught stealing and pops out. They're down to their last out or else they play again tomorrow.

Florida State gave up playing cat and mouse with Troy State and put up the big inning to win 11-4. They're headed to SRs so that they can pull their usual choke job.

UVa felt the same way about Elon. Lead 10-3 in B8.
