ECU, Houston, Memphis, Tulsa, Tulane, and SMU left Conf USA because they all believed and still do that getting out was better than staying in. Don't fault these schools for believing that they would rather share a conference with Uconn, USF and Cincy than MTSU and ODU. How can anyone fault a school or fan base for believing that it will be easier to recruit having competition against Cincy vs Charlotte in football. It is what it is. Do I think departing schools should chest pumping because they have managed to save their schools from football oblivion, no.
On the other hand schools that are left in Conf USA should be happy with what thy have and concentrate on Conf USA rather than the AAC . I for one am looking forward to our final year in the Conf.

Great, you should enjoy playing MTSU and ODU. I support Southern Miss having both of these schools on their schedule every year.

I know Cinny will bring fans, they did in the old days of C-USA 1.0, USF when we played would bring several hundred. Plus, it matters not, we can sell out out our stadium just fine. Marshall has more fans than any other in Greenville since 2005 and that's less than 200. Yet we've had 5 conference games sell out since 2010, five conference games over 50,000. USM 50,345, UCF 50,277, Marshal 50,145, UAB 50,023, Tulsa 50,010.

ECU we have VT at home this year and play UNC and NCST on the road which represents a better opponent then 99% of our Bowl options. Problem in the future is the Big 5 will make scheduling them OOC even more difficult for Gang of 5 schools. I guess on a semi positive note there are still a lot of programs in the Gang of 5 that I would be interested in watching ECU play. Sad part is the Big 5 is putting more daylight between themselves and the rest of us and we are seeing the definite emergence of a Tier system where CUSA and AAC are Second Tier. It is the reality most of us face....far less tv money, crappy bowls and tougher to get one for one scheduling agreements.
Educate me please. I would have thought that ECU would be a pretty good option for BCS OOC schedules, you guys wouldn't penalize many team's schedule strength. Or do you just mean that if the AQ conferences go to 9 conference games then there are just fewer OOC games available?
(1) They wouldn't hurt many, if any, cartel sos numbers, at least in most years....but with the upticking talk of 9 conference games it cuts out 25% of the ooc games available. (2) There is also an uptick in talking about limiting ooc games to games with opponents from other cartel conferences. THAT, #2, if it develops, is the #2 right smack ass on top of the Go5.

Is that so? Marshall and Rice both had over 53k in the sun bowl

No, AAC is a no name conference!
Is it a new FCS conference? I've never heard of it. What does it stand for?
AAC = Annoying Ass Conference
Yet another annoying ass C-left behind fan created this butt envy thread.
There would be a 1/10 of the AAC schools and discussion on this board, if you C-left behinders wouldn't keep creating new threads.
How come ecu posters don't comprehend very well? First ragging SOUTHERN MISS about a post made by a UNT fan and then ragging old C-USA teams over a post made by a newbie to C-USA fan?
Reading comprehension is a real issue that should be addressed long before attending college.

Checked, no Marshall didn't, it was 51k and Rice was back in 2000.

WOW, you play in a stadium you don't own. Kinda hard to beat you all time best when our stadium seats 50,000. But, we do a better job of putting more fans in stands then you.
