No. (At least not on purpose.) He was actually in defense mode (and she was kicking his @$$). When he tried to block one of her hands to his face, that's when his SEC Championship ring hit her in the eye. Guess there's no easy way to break off an affair.
Like I said, he has his flaws, but "woman beater" is not one of them.
So, adulterer, and idiot (sleeping with a subordinate earns him that title), but not woman beater.
Sorry for all your tribulations, Winfrey.

UAT's administration laughed at the ring story too and paid Nancy Watts 275 K's.

Another Bama coach or two couldn't keep it in their pants as well.
But hey, they were only human.
You're right about that.

I don't have a black robe, so I don't judge people. I hope you're not as harsh on all coaches who were aldulters and sleeping with subordinates.

Bet they didn't laugh quite as hard when they got the whole story and wrote Wimp an even bigger check for wrongful termination. Oh yeah, I forgot, they got a booster to pay that one off.
Whole ordeal was pretty sad.

Everyone judges everyone all the time. I sure do. You can screw up your own marriage if you want, but if you start ******* around (literally) with someone's school and athletic program, especially that of a publicly funded state school that is paying you, directly and indirectly, to hold a job title that holds you liable for the success or lack thereof of the program... sorry, long sentence, I ran out of words. I think that scrutiny of Wimp is fair enough, as it is for other coaches in similar situations, such as, here it comes:
Bobby Petrino could have had an affair with basically anyone else on the planet and he would probably still have a job. At Arkansas, I mean. But the season they had after that cluster is for the most part his fault, and I don't think there's anything wrong with a little accountability for adults, especially very old, well-paid adults that know better. His actions affected a lot of other people. But on the other hand, it's just football, right?

1. Adulterer: dumb
2. Adultery with a subordinate: dumber
To whom should that not apply?
