Blake got out of the inning with a couple more outfield flies. Nice outing, but I'd take him out at this point for a number of reasons: (1) I do think he's showing signs of tiring with the ball conistently up in the zone, but more importantly, (2) we need him out of the bullpen for Saturday and Sunday. He's pitched enough to earn the win; time to turn it over to Simms, Lemond and company. Offense cannot go to sleep here as Lamar is a good offensive club.
Pitcher #4 for Lamar-- JUCO transfer RHP JT Autry (7.00 ERA, 9.0 IP, 10 BBs, 4 Ks)-- wild man #2. Patience, boys!
Stringer leadoff single up the middle. Christian is 3-3!
Ratterree grounds out to 3B on hit and run, but Stringer advances all the way to 3B with one out. Great baserunning there.
Aquino struck out. Geez...against a guy with just 3 Ks when you had to put the ball in play.
Hoelscher walked. Runners on the corners, two outs.
Hoelscher stole 2B. Not sure if that was a smart play with 2 outs and a runner on 3B.
Cook clutch 2-out RBI single!
Runners still on the corners, 2 outs.
Wild pitch scores Hoelscher!
Cook advances to 2B.
Perrott RBI double!
Geoff now 3-3 with 2 doubles.
Lamar pitcher #5-- So LHP Chase Angelle (3.60 ERA, 20.0 IP, 20 hits, 6 BBs, 7 Ks)...
Stainback flied out to CF.
Clutch hitting combined with aggressive baserunner. Well done.
Good guys lead 6-0 heading to the top of the sixth inning.
