Yes. Unless they are giving me compliments, then I don't care.

Lol... point made. But for those that want news fast, we saw the garbage that gets spread and repeated as true because of poor judgment or absence of care by tweeters that seek something out of posting diarrheally, ie Anonymous/Sunil. Should there be an accountability mechanism available on twitter?

Impossible. Unless you're following reliable news sources, the rest is mostly just gossip/rumors.

heck, there's no accountability mechanism available for "real media" let alone social media.

Exactly. Twitter is essentially a MASSIVE message board with no mods or filters. You get opinions from everyone, news from the trusted sources, and you have the occasional idiots that present rumors as fact to gain attention.

I found it useful in getting my air conditioner and car serviced faster because I posted about them on twitter. I'm not saying it's the be-all end-all, but it is useful.

Do you mean twitter is quicker but may not be as reliable? Or that the "other source" may not be reliable?

I meant twitter - you have to take everything with a grain of salt. Twitter broke the Bin Laden killing story, and was miles ahead of other sources in the Boston marathon bombings - to name a few examples.

Yes, but a false tweet today caused the stock market to tumble. They say it was hacked. You get good and you get bad. It's all what you want to get out of it.

Depending on what it looked like, actually accountability mechanisms exist today. Just have to balance out are costs worth it and is there a demand...
