Yeah, but the difference:
Beetlejuice is funny.
Bloody Mary (Liberty Metaphor) is not.

Now we have TXST, UTA, NMSU and Idaho. Nobody wants Jax State, Delaware or Liberty (me either on that one). Tell us what is the Utopia Football Conference for you?
Idaho is for football only, and so is NMSU(currently). No reason to add a school just to keep a couple of football only members happy, besides, the only reason Idaho is here is because they have no where else to go. If and when they do, they will leave. We threw them a lifeline, that is what we gave them, we don't owe them anything else. We owe stAte and UALR to give a good look at Missouri St, I have no problem with them. You could say we owe Appy St to look into Virginia, even if it is Liberty(not saying we take them). There is a big difference between adding UTC, Jax St or anyone else inside the current footprint then adding a school in Utah.
Do not think anyone at App State wanted you to look into Virginia to consider Liberty University. I had rather add a hippie colony in California. Now James Madison, that's different, would very much like to add them for all sports.
If you truly want Liberty fans to go away, quit bringing us up in statements like this..

Kind of demonic? Bet they have little dolls with pins sticking all through them for us both.
Beatle juice is funny, so Bloody Mary reminds me more of them.

The best future options for the SBC now are:
1. Missouri State (2nd FBS school in state)
2. James Madison (dedicated alumni)
3. Kennesaw State (great rival for Ga State, Ga Southern, and Troy and keeps travel cost low for USA and App State)
4. Texas Arlington - Adding Football
5. North Florida (future)
6. Florida Gulf Coast (future)

I know beggars cant be choosers but if those kind of schools ( #3-5-6 and maybe even#2) are added I would imagine my school would have been long gone outta here..

As far as 'future' expansion members...why hasn't SIU (Southern Illinois) been mentioned? We used to play them quite a bit.
What are they up to nowadays?

What I'm about to say may not make our Georgia St. fans happy, but I see Kennesaw State. moving on up the athletics ladder and making some noise in the college football world.

- Western Carolina would provide a good SB location, poor to moderate fan support, questionable financial ability, one of the poorest won/loss ratios of any FCS team, personally would like to have them since my sister graduated from WCU.
- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - Old but good stadium @ 20,000, normally poor fan support, good location for SB, medium winning ratio, questionable financial ability to make FBS move.
You are absolutely are reaching to suggest Western Carolina. It's a nice little school nestled in the hills of Cullowee, NC many miles from anywhere important. WCU will not become FBS in this lifetime or maybe even the next.
UT Chattanooga, on the other hand would make a suitable addition some day and their stadium is not old at all. Finley Stadium was built in 1998 and seats 20,686 and they have had over 22,000 crammed in there. Very nice facility. IMO, it would take at least 5 years to make the jump to FBS if they started today.

I've thought about them as well. They were making some FCS noise not all that long ago, and as far as the "footprint" goes, they're really not that far up the road from where WKU was. Strange that I haven't heard their names come up anywhere in any discussions for any conference...

They have $$$ issues. Well really the state has $$$ issues. They had to take two steps back three times before actually kicking off football. They are not going to have the money anytime soon to make all of the necessary upgrades to get to FBS.

The basketball arena, which is usely filled up, is called Dee Events Center, seats12,000. It would fit in nicely between NMSU and Idaho. Easy to get to flying into Salt Lake City and driving a few miles up I-15. Check them out Mr. Benson. The move up to FBS would not be that hard for them and would be a plus for the SBC.
It took us 10 years to get rid of a great institution in Denver and you are suggeting to add a school on the other side of the Rockies. LOL!
:lmfao:Yeah, isn't that hilarious? So is adding Idaho.

Great, so you eastern division folks want to dump another school into our division that is 2,000 miles away. And you guys wonder why stAte and UL fans are upset...really???
That was just me. The other "eastern division folks" feel much the same as you do. BTW, going to Moscow, ID is a lot worse than going to Ogden, UT.

Really? you're now comparing Idaho and Weber St.? The only reason Idaho was invited is because they bring an instant FBS program which helped to protect against another subsequent raid. There are many, much closer, programs that bring as much or more than a Weber St would. why did you bring them up again? because you visited there a couple of times?

What is your problem? FIU is vacating the SBC and it will not effect your school one bit. You just seen to want to argue the point. Go to the coosa board and pick someone over there to ***** at. Get over yourself, for goodness' sake.

You continued the discussion when you brought up Idaho in relation to your non-sensical suggestion of Weber St. Sorry if you're not big-boy enough to defend your thoughts.

Looking 10-12 years down the road, two schools in big markets with a good 17,000 students each. Lindenwood is in St. Charles, MO a suberb of St. Louis. Central Oklahoma is in Edmond, a suberb of OKC.
They just moved up to D2. It will take a while to build a following and get their facilities in order. Central Oklahoma already draws 6 or 7K for their football games.

Weber State? Hilarious. 2-9 last year and they brag about averaging over 6,000 per game.
http://www.championshipsubdivision.com/f...=5&t=28909
I thought this was supposed to be a football driven conference and football being the main ingredient when deciding on expansion. Weber State, UMass, and even Missouri State have terrible football teams and their fans do not care one bit about football. If you want to find schools that love and support football you have to....you know, look in the SUNBELT. That's where they are.

Oh, I explained my my thoughts and find absolutely no reason to explain them again to a SBC-vacating FIU fan. I would like to ask you a question, though. Why won't they let you post on the coosa board? Have you already ticked them off or something? As far as the "big boy" comment, do you really wanna go there?

I have not considered The Citadel as a target. While they have a decent stadium, good fan support, a great city to visit, I don't get any feeling that they would have any interest in moving up. They are happy where they are.
