Does this mean that any all conference player is technically ALL American?????

I own the domain http://www.americanathleticconference.org. It would be nice if they bought it from me.

we should just use this as the conference logo. a generic image for a generic conference.

I also bought about 5 other possible conference domain names and http://www.americanathleticconferenece.org was one of them.

Cue the Ron Tillery conference America jokes.

Hate to provide ammo to the detractor camp, but last night at about 7:45 the d*ckheads on ESPN (AKA Eastern Sports Promotion Network, or ESpin) Radio were falling all over themselves making fun of the recently announced new conference name. One 'jock' (pun unavoidable) derided the recent conference shake up on the whole, saying that all the defections and ensuing backsliding (read Boise State & SD state) had produced a landscape too volatile to keep track of, at least at this point.

One of the ESPN hosts then suggested the remains of the Big East should just call themselves the "Little East" and that sent the whole lot into gales of uncontrollable laughter for several minutes. What I took away from this is that whatever nickname the AAC ends up being pegged with will hopefully not be as pejorative as the "Little East". Otherwise, I think we're going to have to FedEx another couple of tons of Tiger manure to Bristol. Think Fred would spring for the delivery cost?

My guess is the jokes will die down once the executives issue the memo that the AAC is an ESPN league.

So we again find ourselves in a Mickey Mouse conference with a generic name.

The name is fine, the conference is more about who is in it than the name. Idiots that want to make jokes would have made them no matter what the name. Nothing they could have thought of would be anything but a name for schools that are just outside the so called power conferences. Take care of business on the field and court and the jokes stop. Once some of our programs, including Memphis, start thinking big time and acting like it then the conference becomes legit. There is a reason Louisville left many of us behind, they went after it hard and look where they are, Sugar Bowl win over Fla. and both hoops team inthe Final 4, that is called stepping up!!!!!!! The AAC is better than anything else mentioned.
