RE: Bowl Games
I would rather have the MAC be the first back up for the Detroit B1G/ACC spots than have a bowl vs the #6 or #7 AAC team.

This is the latest article from 8 days ago.
"Pizza Bowl chairman and director Ken Hoffman said today on "Staudt on Sports" in Lansing (730 AM) that the Detroit Lions and Ford Field have softened their stance and are open to the possibility of a second bowl game in the facility"
Ken Hoffman and George Perles still trying to keep it going despite the Big Ten not really supportive of it... thats about all we know.
Move the Pizza Bowl over to Toronto for a couple years until you find a new home for it. You could always play the AAC or Army there for a while. I know the pass port thing is a pain but at least you save this bowl until you find another location if the B-10 continues to fight the issue at Ford Field. It really is a nice city and I watch a baseball game there with the Blue Jays. The stadium is nice too.

That plan's as good as any.
With 4 bowls basically secured and the LCPB certification still valid, MAC leadership would prove itself inept if it doesn't end up with at least 5 bowls for this 13-team conference that has, and will in the foreseeable future, average at least 6 bowl eligible teams.

Yes Toronto sounds good.

A sudden rise in sea levels caused by man made global warming has put most of the Bahamas underwater. Thus the bowl game would be played in scuba gear.

Thats going to hurt the teams that rely on speed more than running schools like Rice or Navy.

RE: Bowl Games
Steinbrecher was interviewed at the BG/Kent game and he said (with a smirk) that the MAC has 3 primary bowls (Mobile, Boise, Montgomery) and expects to get at least 1 or two more primaries (and this is where the smirk came in) in "nice locations" or maybe he said "warm" but I think it was "nice" locations.
He also said that there would be 1 or 2 secondary for 5-6 "opportunities" for MAC teams.
I like the confidence, which probably means that the Bahamas is in the bag. I wonder what that other possible bowl in a "nice" location could be. It certainly can't be Detroit. I think that means that Detroit is done. Maybe Boca, Charleston, or even Orlando.
I can't remember the timeline that he stated for announcing, but I think its was 30 days. Did anyone catch the interview and remember the timeline?

You would think Navy could beat anybody underwater.

If the MAC takes the LCPB certification to Orlando to play in the stadium on UCF's campus they could partner with the AAC for that bowl if Detroit and Toronto are out.

Does the LCPB certification ended after this year's bowl? OR does the certification exist indefinitely so long as conditions continue to be met????

It's my understanding that as long as conditions are met the certification remains active. As of now the LCPB does seem to need a partnering conference to go along with the MAC and a host site, but if those conditions are met in Orlando and with the AAC, the bowl should be okay.
Did anyone DVR the MAC GOTW Halftime interview with the Commish? I'd like to know for certain what timeline he gave for announcing the full MAC bowl lineup for 2014-19.
