If there isn't a good crowd tonight it should be investigated. By the way there were actually scalpers outside the arena last night. I guess all businesses have some bad days.

I think the only thing that concerns me about tonight is the officiating. McRea got the star treatment last night. We saw Marshall get his way IN OUR OWN GYM. These refs have to stop acting like we have superstar players that need their resume padded to up their NBA stock. This is the MAC. I want our conference to be good too, but when you give future European leaguers the green light on a national spotlight, it just looks that much more pathetic.
As far as the other aspects of the game: we got our first game under our belt. We haven't been idle for a week. As I jokingly mentioned before we are the hottest team this side of the Mississippi. I think we roll in, take care of business, and move to the final.

We will absolutely be outnumbered. That being said, it could at least be respectable. I know it's a drive from Kent to Cleveland, but any real fan would be there unless they have some prior obligation. Sitting at home and watching on TV is lame.

As a fan, this is the game you want. The Q wasn't exactly rocking last night and given the new tournament format and the match-ups, especially the late game, its understandable. Even with a little rain/snow mix this evening, that should not be the case. In addition to the Kent State and Akron fans, local basketball junkies will find this semi-final intriguing.

Its hard to speculate what the frame of mind is for these teams, especially Akron. But last week's loss to Kent State and the unfortunate events surrounding the team had to put some doubt in the Zips mind. Hopefully Akron had a nice long week to stew about it and guys are going to press a bit, especially early in the game. But I don't think you can count on that.

Two things to keep an eye on tonight:

First, can Kent State contain Marshall and Treadwell? My guess is Tabb will play more than he did last night. A "where did that come from game" from one of KSU's big men would go a long way towards a victory.

Second, who is going to be hot? Akron sure as heck was not last Friday and KSU shot 3-15 from three last night. Who knows if a couple of free throws can get a guy going, but lets hope Dev Manley can sink a few opportune triples after hitting those big freebies last night.

Less three-pops. Take the shot if you are 100% sure it goes in. Otherwise, set up an offense and stick to the plan. As JC said, trust the system.

Agree 100%. There was a long stretch of quick shot, one pass offense last night.

We had 2 unused tickets last night. We used 6 of the 8 we have had since the tournament moved to Cleveland. They are mid-court, 5th row. In other words, perfect. We got $15 for them last night from a scalper....

I'll be there in spirit, but I wouldn't be able to make it one way or the other. Two and a half hours of driving gets me there promptly at 8:00 pm with my current schedule.

This game makes me way more nervous than last night. Even with the drug lord out, Bettencourt wasn't playing that bad until the cramps set in. I hope his conditioning hasn't improved at all.

i'm feeling good about our chances vs akron tonite.

we got the jitters out. getting that 1st mac tourney game behind us is HUGE.

we are confident. we are focused. we're playing well. we're on a winning streak.

The PD speculated this morning(Terry Pluto speculation so probably accurate) that Abreu was actually suspended for failing a routine drug test that Dambrot insists on. Violated team rules and that's why the quick action.
