Thanks cagy. I knew there was more just couldn't recall.
Committing in 8th tells you most of what you need to know.

Until such time as NIU has enough talent to field a competitive d-1 team, the only other route to the big dance is if all schools enter an open tournament lasting three months.
256 teams may not be enuff to get in huskies.

Cully Payne grandfather coached at East Leyden High School with Jerry Wainwright back in the 70s or early 80s. Jerry Wainwright is a VERY close friend to the Payne family. It was mutual agreed upon by the family and Wainwright in Cully senior year that DePaul would not be a could fit. An 8th grade offer or commitment is not binding and is worth nothing to both parties until the player signs a contract senior year

We wouldn't get in and it wouldn't even be close. Our RPI this year was 331. Last year it was 334. The year before, 322. If we don't have the worst basketball program in the country we are damn close.
For reference there are about 345 teams in D1.

Yeah, sounds familiar.
Fun fact: Saw Jerry W. assitant coach on the Marquette bench over the weekend. He always seemed like a good guy in interviews when he was at DePaul.
