RE: This bb team is...
Well, since he is a 15 & 10 guy on a 60 ppg team, similar feats on a 90 ppg team wouldn't be that much of a stretch.
He will not see any drop off in minutes except for a few more breathers.

This team is small and lacks depth. Those were big issues all season long, and they were issues again today. Coach Haase knows what he is doing, and you can tell he has an extremely high basketball IQ based off of numerous decisions he's made this season. We all knew this season had a low ceiling, and this is about how I saw it ending. I expect next year's team to be much more competitive, and I expect several of the new guys to come in and contribute immediately.
You sound like Gorilla right now, and that is not a compliment.
I gave an honest, no green-colored glasses, opinion of my team. As I have before, follow link and read post #5. You sound like an idiot right now and that is a compliment.
after a rough start
I don't look through green colored glasses either when looking at any of our teams. You can go find posts that I've written on either of the big 2 teams too. I don't understand what is so hard to comprehend about this team had to play 7 players, and only one was a legit big man. The ceiling was not high. Anybody looking at this team objectively knew that. Why you have to come on here and bash the team the day their season ends is beyond me. There are several decent players on the roster, but no true great ones. Add a little depth to this roster, and a couple of solid ball handlers, and things won't be so bad.
Where did I bash the team? We must have different definitions of bashing. Most teams only want a 7 man rotation when it comes to tournament time. USM didn't have much size either. The size that we do have was getting outplayed by a smaller player, so what's your point? You won't find one post where I "bashed this team" during the season, during a game, or today. Sensitive feelings are easily hurt.
Your list of ten things pretty much bashed the team. If you don't call that bashing, I'd hate to see what it looked like if you did bash the team. You essentially said the team was slow, had a terrible basketball IQ, had a terrible skill level, had no shooters, had no leaders, and played like they didn't care what happened out there. And to top it off, you basically said there's no chance of them being a top team in the conference next year. How in the hell is that not bashing the team?
If you went in for a review at work, and you boss said:
You do half as much as we expect from you; you make twice as many mistakes as any other employee, you are unreliable and fail to meet deadlines frequently, you have a terrible relationship with our employees and customers; and on and on, would you not say your boss bashed you?

Yep. I love a lot of things about Rod, but he's a garbage scorer, not a traditional scorer. He's a guy you need on the floor, but you don't need to depend on him for points. He'll get them sometimes and he'll find ways to help you win, but he's not somebody you can give the ball to on the wing and expect him to score. The most fundamental problem this team had is that Rod was its best player. He can be a phenomenal piece, in the vein of a Sidney Ball or a David Walker maybe. But if he's who you're counting on to get points consistently, you're not going to have a very good offense.
I hope you guys are right about the recruits, because we need them.
Respectfully disagree. Next year with an even more uptempo offense based around secondary breaks I think we can help Rod score in ways he is comfortable such as cutting to the basket, etc. I believe he can have success at the 3 or 4 and that our coaches will use him masterfully.
Well, but that's what I meant. "Garbage scorer" isn't mean in a derogatory way. He does the dirty work. His game is not to take jumpers or clear-outs where he takes his guy one-on-one off the dribble. His game is outworking everybody and getting in the right spot to hit short jumpers and a lot of layups. That's more of a traditional 4, but the traditional positions aren't really all that relevant to a Haase-coached team.
I love the guy; I can't even imagine where this team would have been without him. My point is that we need guys whose job is to go get points. Rod's job is to go get the ball. And when he does that, he often scores a lot as an incidental consequence. But we'd be better off with an offense that doesn't need to run through him. He just doesn't have a good enough shot for that game. But in a true up-tempo, he will be phenomenal, because nobody is going to play harder and get more cheap baskets from pure hustle on run-outs and secondaries where he's beaten his man down the floor than Rucker.

Rucker is a hardworking, bluecollar, lunchbucket kinda guy. XCMA would call him a Burger King All American.
And he'd be right.
We've got shooters coming in. Everyone has a year in the system now and can start teaching the new guys from the start of pickup ball. We'll be better.
