Not pressing the panic button, but willing to say something is definitely wrong if we lose this series today.

Top 1: Day reaches on a walk but Barron and Robbins fail to hit the ball past the pitcher--both double play balls, the latter of which was actually turned.

Robbins to take the mound: A couple harmless fly balls, a four pitch walk, and a K of the Troy cleanup hitter--16 pitches.

2nd: Lynch drew a walk. Roussell with a hit to bump his average back up to the .600 mark, so clearly he should only start on Sundays. Furr K's, though, and the Eagles strand a couple.

Sounding the like hitting is MIA today. Lots of weak ground balls.

Robbins doesn't have it today. 1-0 Troy. Bases loaded and 2 out. Two walks and two hard singles. Gets out of it with a fly ball.

1-0 through 3.

T4: Brown and Lynch lead off with singles. I-Rod bunts them over. Roussell gets an RBI groundout. Furr K's again. In that situation, I agree with the bunt since Rodriguez has struggled.

About as quickly as I can type that, Troy goes down in order with a K and two fly outs to right.

1-1 to the fifth.

Our 1-4 batters today....the highest season average is Robbins at .277

Roussel with an RBI sac...can everyday be Sunday?

2-2 after Rodriguez and a Troy player trade homers.

Now 4-2 Troy on a second homer in the inning. What in the world was Robbins still doing in? Second day in a row. Yesterday was a little bit of hindsight but this one was obvious.

Troy taking BP off our pitching. 6-3 after a two run shot off Myrick. Eagle pitching has given up five bombs this weekend after two the previous eight games.

And this is not appear to be that good of a Troy team--maybe it is, but generally if you manage to lose a game to a SWAC team you aren't very good.

This team is overrated, for sure. It is a long year. Maybe they will get it together to make a Regional. Right now, this does not look like a Regional team AT ALL.

They pretty much suck. Let's call a spade a spade.

Troy is pretty good this year, but Alabama State is out of the ordinary for a SWAC team. Their head coach is the same head coach from Bethune-Cookman that took them to the Regionals year after year after year. Plus their lineup is 90% Cuban or Puerto Rican players. Heck, they even beat a very good Mercer team.

I know you guys think your team sucks, but they looked pretty good to me. Top 3 in CUSA imo. Wish you guys luck the rest of the season.

Thanks, Troy has been hitting the ball pretty well this year. The SBC and C-USA have always been great baseball conferences. It seems every year that the SBC and C-USA hold down the #4 or #5 conference RPI.

I'm not saying Troy isn't good. I'm saying we aren't good.

Two years ago, Southern Miss took advantage of the fact that the State of Mississippi had, by most accounts, the best baseball season of any state in the union to sign the number three recruiting class, not in CUSA, but in the entire country. This team is good. It just should be a bit better in most Golden Eagle fans' eyes. We are now 3-5 since sweeping Missouri, and just 1-4 on the road.

Congrats to Troy on winning the series. Our team has issues, but that is not an excuse for losing. Troy just beat us.

Alabama State just dropped 2/3 to Alcorn. It looks like they may be more competent than most SWAC teams but that is still a black eye of a loss.

I hope Troy is good. Based on last year and that you haven't exactly beaten anyone (outside of us, which may or may not mean something), it is a little early to assume you guys are.

Good or not, you were damn sure better than us this weekend. Congrats. Good luck the rest of the season.

The concern meter is starting to tick up.

Troy has been hot and cold this year....We beat Texas Tech easily and Threw up big numbers on FAMU. Alabama State was just a mess of a game that day. Baseball is one of those sports where sometimes things just dont go your way...

Troy has a great baseball history. And I think this years team will be above average...I think it will be between USA and Troy for the SBC.
