Is likely untrue, but as has been pointed out on the BE boards, the combined markets of Tampa/Orlando are a MEGA market, a top 5 US market.

We could have had UL and USF and passed but now we are gonna take UCF? Gimme a break. Big 12 is staying at 10 unless we get an ACC school

The combined market of Tampa/Orlando is bigger than just about any ACC school. B12 must think long term. You know full well from playing USF the kind of potential that both of these schools possess. MEGA potential, with an emphasis on mega. Come down to Tampa so you can get beat again, ok.

I tend to agree with the ECU fan that made the point to the effect of "If they really were this incredibly valuable/powerhouse combo that Fox would be willing to shell out millions of dollars for inclusion in a power conference ....why is the just made nBE deal so lousy?"

Sorry, just can't see the U_F twins adding the kind of real value to the B12 pie for that conference to consider their inclusion.

I think the B12 is content to wait for the B1G's next move first to see if bigger, better fruit like FSU and Miami shakes loose before investing in the two directional schools.

what exactly do these schools add to the Big 12? I'd take UConn and Cincinnati first

I'll admit that its not completely illogical. And I maintain that no ACC school would voluntarily go to the Big 12 unless the ACC suffers further defections. The means that the Big 12 would have to pull from some Gang of 5 schools or BYU if it expanded now. CFU and USF have to be near the top of any list, particularly given the Big 12's geographic limitations. Both are large schools, well located in a populous state, and in a strong recruiting area.

That said, I still don't think the Big 12 burns spots on schools like USF and UCF. makes more sense to wait it out.

Would Fox really want to fork over an additional 40 something million a year? Because they aren't being added if the per team revenue drops.

Heck at this point, the XII could offer those two only $5M/year in TV revenue and they'd jump at the chance. Given the projected contract bowl and playoff revenue for the XII split 12 ways, each school would blow away whatever the BE is offering as a total package even if they never received a dime from TV.
