Was thinking about what was the range of "fair and equitable" and actually came to the precise numbers each is claiming. On the high end for the C7/BE:
no entrance fees
7/10 of the forfeited NCAA credits (SU/Pitt/UL/RU/WVU) of $30 million
7/10 of half of the $70 in potential exit fees (fb exit fees were double basketball so claiming more than half is unreasonable
That's $45.5 million. BE name has been valued at $8-$10 million. Deducting that gets you to around the $35 million the C7/BE want.

on the low end:
Roughly half of the forfeited NCAA credits of $30 million since C7 earned less per school than UC/UC/USF.
7/10 of half of half of the exit fees for those leaving 2013 or prior. Since the others leave with them, it can be argued they aren't impacted by a reduction in TV value. And since they are only there for half of the time WVU/TCU leaving impacts the TV contract, they only get half of that. So 7/10 * 50% bb portion * 50% (1 year of 2) * $25 million (WVU/TCU exit fees). That's $19.4 million. Deducting the BE name at $8-$10 gets you around to the $10 million the 3 fb schools want to offer.

i don't even bother to use the "we" when it comes to the big east. i'm almost convinced that we'll (as Memphis fans) never see our school play a down of big east football or tip off a single big east basketball game.

and i don't think we're particularly "hated" - except maybe by what's left of cusa. the acc certainly doesn't hate us (we're basicly their farm league) and the big 4 barely notice us. the rest of the conferences (mwc, mac, sun belt, wac) think our expansion path is unstable (as do i) and worth a lot le$$ to tv than many (former, soon to be fomer, current or future) big east fans were projecting (and some still project). some of them might be annoyed by ridiculous optimism (as some have stated) of some newly invited schools' fans, but "hated" is still too strong to describe it.

Takes a 3/4 vote, and the new schools only have 7/10. If 7/10 were enough to get it done, the C-7 would be stripping the assets, not the 3 holdover schools.

Interesting. Probably means Tulsa will have to wait for a while. The leftover 3 won't give up their fillibuster block until they have no choice. Exactly what happened with the WAC. The leftovers held onto control as long as possible and maximized their take of WAC money as best as possible.
