Will C-USA have 16 for basketball in 2013-14?
I didn't know for sure but with ECU and Tulane still in the league for next year and with the new members entering, do we actually have a 16 team basketball conference next year?

I would prefer it without ECU and Tulane.

I actually like playing ECU, especially at home. Well attended game that we win more often than not. ECU may not be a basketball power, but the familiar name draws a lot of students to the games.

And ECU is improving as a basketball program. By the time they get to the nBE they should do well there. Not sure who they have coming back for next season but if its substantial then they will be tough.

Speaking of ECU and basketball. I wonder why the Big East hasn't announced them as a full member yet? It doesn't seem fiscally possible to be a football only.

We lose Miguel Paul, Maurice Kemp, Corvonn Gaines, and Shamar Bowden after this season so the losses are substantial. We have a juco pg coming in. We will see. Paul and Kemp are HUGE losses in my mind.

With it looking like a home and home with them next year then they bail before we can play them football, I see no added benefit.
I'd would much rather play a Marshall, ODU, USM, UAB or MTSU twice since they will remain in the league.

I've been wondering the same thing. Now that the c7 are leaving I don't see why they wouldn't let them in for all sports. It's a huge slap in the face and makes the move look even worse if they stick with the football only.

ASSUMING what some ecu guys have said, the pirates haven't actually withdrawn from C-USA (nor tulane per these same folks). I imagine ecu is now reconsidering - though I'd also be they'll stay nbe - but won't do anything until the full invite comes. If it doesn't come they have some serious decisions to make. I also believe, assuming the ecu posters are correct, that those are the same reasons C-USA hasn't invited #'s 15 and 16 as of yet.
As for not having the full invite yet - the nbe presidents are shell shocked over their much smaller than ever imagined tv contract. They very well might be considering staying at 10/9 and hoping Navy is smart enough to stay away.

Yeah it'll be tough to replace Paul and especially Kemp. Kemp is a big time player.

Gaines and Bowden are out due to injuries for the season and have not played lately. Also we will have a starter back for next season who redshirted this year with an injury and a reserve player (Richmond) was named Cusa player of week. An $18 million upgrades in basketball facilities, Coach Lebo , 6'4" pg transfer, three starters, and two 6'10"+ freshmen post players returning ECU will be one of top teams to beat next season in Cusa.
The four teams above ECU now in Cusa are Memphis (leaving), UCF (leaving), USM (overtime lost), and UTEP (last second half court 3 pointer lost).

You won't be seeing the same utep team as this year though

Can we convince former Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz to donate his old mustache? Battle of the porn 'stache!
