RE: In Light of Gtown tomorrow night...
Two weird things I noticed:

1) a large man on the post who caught the ball and made a basket. I had forgotten what an actual post option and pass down low looked like. Yancy for his ups and downs added a dimension we just don't have this season.
2) butch jones right behind the bench.

Great memories last season.

First thing I thought of was how much I miss Yancy. Never thought I'd ever say that. Although I did really come to appreciate him about halfway through last season when it seemed he started giving full effort every game and was a changed player.

Even Cashmere seemed like a different player in that game.

Agree

I've been finding myself saying the same things about Yancy a lot this season.

Yancy was dominating at times in the Big East tourney and the run to the Sweet 16. I don't think he had the motor to go all out for 30-40 minutes a game and that's what frustrated fans. When he brought the energy he could be nearly unstoppable and no one on this year's team approaches his combination of size and offensive skill.

This game is going to be completely different. The first team to score 50 will win and I easily could see this being a 45-44 type of game...

This is a huge game...Gtown plays great D and will be challenging for UC to score. Im also concerned with the matchup vs Otto

Agreed with this. Yancy was 6-1 in his career against G-town and averaged 14 points and 7.5 rebounds in those games, both numbers above his career averages. That double OT game was one of his 5 best performances as a Bearcat. I thought going into this season losing Gates would be addition by subtraction but I was clearly wrong. I'd love to have him back this year.

Two people the surface as "didnt think they were great at the time" but the next year were "most missed":

Keith Legree...charles williams was a fail
Yancy Gates...we have no inside/post go to now
