I disagree regarding our defense. I think our offense has been great the last two game. And while I think defense against UCF was better than defense against USM, I still think we can improve on D between now and March.

I don't think we can play much better on offense than we have the last two games.

I agree. Our defense hasn't been lights out. It's been pretty average over the last two games. Our offense has carried us.

91-57 with 3 minutes to go in the game and Pastner cleared the bench. UCF got 14 points late to make it look better than it was. Holding a team to 5 7 points while scoring 91 is damn good defense.

While I agree with that, look at the shooting percentage stats for Southern Miss and UCF. Those percentages aren't bad at all.

18 turnovers against 11 assists. 11 assists on 24 made shots for UCF. That shows good defense.

15 turnovers against 19 assists. 19 assists against 31 made baskets against USM. While they had higher assists against MFG, compare that to Memphis' 27 assists with 33 MFG.

While losing any game won’t kill us it would definitely put us in the NCAA emergency room.

We need all of them as bad as a dead man needs a coffin.

Nobody is saying that we have been playing poor defense. I'm simply saying I think we can get even better on defense.

Conversely, I don't think we can play much better offensively than we have the last two games.

I've wondered if there were a brain chemical measurement showing the activity generated with a "don't lose" mentality vs. that of a "just win". Anyway, just win! I take issue with the mantra "winning is hard"-er than losing.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. We're solid now defensively but there's room for improvement and that improvement could be the difference between a second round exit and a Sweet Sixteen.

Honestly, an increased defensive effort means the players are sharp and focus. IMO, difference b/t 2nd round and final 4. Good defensive efforts by the Tigers always results in easy buckets and great offense.
