Looks to be Jacquet McClendon 6'1" 229 lbs, from Evergreen Park. He is rivals rated 5.4 2*. Rivals does not show an NIU offer and none of the other sites show anything from NIU. He is an Indiana State commit. Nice pickup for them.

That is -2- players in the past week that chose another team based on position. Both want to play offense and we wanted them as LBs. oh well...

Look at our roster. We have a ton of excellent WR's for the next 4 years...

We got Jordan Lynch because he wanted to play QB. Other, bigger schools were recruiting him as a safety. Worked out well for us.

Yeah, some of those scenarios, you're just gonna lose out on kids because, like a poster above stated, we are stacked at WR. Only thing we can really do is kick the dust off our shoes and move on! Agreed, great pickup though!

Got a visit to Niu on Saturday -Sunday

still trying to figure out who this is, but it looks like he knows Albert Smalls and Trent Sherfield...

I think this is Devan Ingram from Decatur McArthur HS.

Staff has obviously identified a need at the DB positions. Perhaps a good find. Can't tell his speed too well from the film. Wonder if he could bring Sherfield along for the ride?

This recruit is tweeting Carey his highlight tape. He's a good sized DL from Cali. Looks to be a JUCO. His tape isn't bad either. Interesting prospect, wonder if Carey watched it

It's either NIU or UCF.

From what people make it sound like, he's a big fan of NIU, but if he wants to stay in state it's UCF.

This could be a big get for NIU considering his top 5 choices.

Don't hold your breath if he wants to stay close to his family...

This is getting crazy JUCOs from California? This recruiting thing is getting crazy with a week left. I wonder when this was sent to Carey and if he made a connection out in California when we were in the Poinsettia Bowl?

That being all said I must say I was just blown away by the tape alone of watching this guy. He's quick off the ball and has a good combination of size and power. Granted, not the best competition, but was Bishop's any better?

Based on the tape alone I concur, get this kid in for a visit this weekend and see where it takes us. He could be a late steal for us a position of huge need. Hope Carey got on this!

Agreed his tape was really impressive. He tweeted that to Carey on 1/21 in response to Carey saying we added another Huskie to the family

Wonder if the recruiting services just missed this guy as there isn't much on him. Like I said I'm blown away by tape here. Wouldn't be a nice surprise if he joins 3 other DT's on signing day? btw...great find 32.

Howard Houston is a nice looking player and it would be great to get him but if you look at his Twitter feed you'll see he sent the same message to 20 or 30 other schools in addition to NIU. It's not like he was communicating solely with our coaches.

Yeah he's doing everything he can to get any attention possible...something his coaches should probably be doing a better job of. I doubt we'll see or hear his name again but who knows.
