Basketball - Lunardi in his weekly chat mentioned we have no chance at an at-large bid this year..we better beat up on Memphis and everyone else b/c the national perception (committee) this year may be enough to make C-USA a 1 bid league.

Baseball - I still think we are a year away. Contend this year, yes...win it all..not counting on it.

Football - Who knows? Our coach "appears" to be the real deal but he has never been a head coach...our road schedule is brutal...reality could perhaps be a tough pill to swallow for the Southern Miss faithful who don't take a humble approach(mentioned before).

2013 Calendar year will be full of championship celebrations in Hattiesburg. All you guys worried about football are crazy. Our guys are going to be so pissed off about last year and ready for some payback that I almost pity CUSA.

Very good assement. That no 3 recruiting class will be rs sophs and jrs then. Best chance on paper of a title. But i do think we contend and get back to the regionals this year.

Lunardi may be wrong here.....spot on on the rest....pitching is still the variable as is not winning a fb game translates to winning football the next year just bc a new coach..got to be realistic...

I wouldn't say zero on the last one. USM has talent on hand and unless things have changed since I was there (I bet it hasn't) those players have had a miserable time since with all the questions. Football is king at USM. I would say the chances of a title are possible but not probable, but Monken catches fire with this team ... stranger things have happened.

My dad always told me confidence and a line of BS will carry you a long way....good luck with that prediction.

I think he meant 2013, which would be basketball and baseball this school year and football in the fall.

I wouldn't exactly call college baseball a big sport.

Elllllllllllloss Johnson was not great at anything. I knew when he was announced that we were screwed. I take that back, the only thing he was good at was hiring an agent to put a one sided contract together for him.
