Thank you, Professor. So there's no damaged or torn tissue in a pull? In a strain is the muscle not just overtaxed, yet not torn? Please explain the difference rather than grading my attempt to simplify it.

there's tearing of muscle fibers in both strains and pulls. They're the same mechanism of injury, but i think people use pull when they want to indicate more severe damage (i.e. more amount of muscle fiber that's torn)

I know if someone pulls your groin hard enough, it could cause a strain.

I think he pulled something much like Mouche a couple years ago. It might be awhile.

RE: Exactly what kind of injury does Tarik Black have?
what's the difference between a break and a fracture? it's the same discussion, nothing

or a heart attack and a myocardial infarction (or a "coronary" if you're really old)

or COPD and emphysema

etc etc

agreed.

Now back to the original point. A strain is the lessor of the injuries and will heal naturally, with time. A pull is more serious, with more damaged tissue. It likely will require a longer time to heal and may even require further medical intervention.
Whether this is in Greys Anatomy or not this is how the two terms are differentiated in locker rooms, since the origin of stadiums.

that may be, I'm just noting that, in the medical lexicon, it's nonsensical

Groin injuries are nothing to play with. Hurt like hell. Not going to get better anytime soon.

Playing basketball with a groin injury is much easier though than playing, say, soccer.

Just read again. Can't remember a couple of years ago right now, but this one is definitely "different" than Mouche last year which is what I was thinking of
