Uh.....no.
I was working late at my office, listening to the game on the radio, with the boxscore up on my computer.
The reason I quit posting was I left and headed home.
I watched the game on my DVR when I got home, even though I knew they'd won .

I watched the game, great 2nd half by 'Cats. Good win, just have to follow it up with solid play the next couple of games.
Could not stand the announcers, from the brawl crap, telling Cash to shut up, and the constant douchebag Jim Boeheim man love. At least Katz was tolerable, the other two bozos made my ears bleed.

Get these boys some cranberry juice to help with their period.
I don't like to critique athletes, especially college athletes, over injuries because fans never know the seriousness as a spectator. But it'll be interesting if a further injury comes out about Semaj in the next day. If he was seriously out for ~ 45 minutes of live time for cramps, then that's sad. I know cramps suck but his preparation, diet, and hydration must be a joke. I gained some respect for Dee Davis battling it out on the other hand.
UC was up 11 when he came out, but of course some Eggsavier fans are saying that's the reason they lost. Too comical!
Also if their coach would recruit kids who are going to be eligible, depth wouldn't have been an issue. Basketball is a long season and only counting on 8 scholarship guys (including two freshmen and multiple inexperienced players) is a risk. But like I said, that's all directed at the coach.
The cramp issue with Christian is becoming a reoccurring problem for Xavier. Chris Mack said in the post game that Christian needs to grow up because this isn't high school anymore, so he needs to take better care of his body.

RE: Xavier Game Thread
Listening to it on the radio, it sounded worse than what I saw later watching it.
When I watched the game, after knowing they'd won, the Bearcat effort was there. Xavier couldn't do anything in the halfcourt. They were getting most of their buckets on stupid turnovers by UC. UC players would lose the handle or do something stupid that would give the ball to an X player for an easy layup. I think Semaj got 2 or 3 of his buckets on easy uncontested fastbreak layups. But in the halfcourt, Xavier could do nothing. And UC's size down low caused them all kinds of problems, especially rebounding. UC had a few breakdowns on defense, but for the most part gave Xavier all they could handle.
After watching it, it really came down to UC couldn't put the ball in the bucket. That series where Parker put one up in traffic and got his own rebound 2 or 3 times with missed putbacks, followed by Mbodj rebounding and putting it back up........they had 5 attempts within a foot and couldn't get it to go down. Impressive display of effort. But futility at it's finest or bad luck. Seemed to be alot of rushed shots. UC is so active and quick, I think they need to slow it down just a notch on offense. Steve Logan was good at that. He wasn't the fastest guy, but he'd penetrate into traffic under control while defenders were flying everywhere. And Logan would let them fly by and in composed fashion, hit the easy jumper.
UC needs to keep the chaos/wild effort on defense and get the offense more under control.
Barring a hot shooting night from an opponent, UC should be able to keep many of them easily under 60 ppg with our defense. And UC should have the rebounding edge in most games too. Fine tune that offense and they got something.
And as important as S K is, he needs to get Parker and Cash more involved. Cash is deadly from 25' in. And Cash needs to realize that a deadly long range shooter can use that to his advantage, pump-fake occasionally, and drive to the hole or even possibly get his defender in the air and jump into him to get 3 shots at the FT line. So many things Cash could be doing. But that 25 footer he made with about 1 second on the shot clock with about 1:10 left in the game sent Xavier fans to the exits. Nice.

I expected a low scoring game as historically USBank has been a hard place to make shots, maybe sort of like playing in the Syracuse dome, the depth perception to the basket is weird for the shooter.

I walked out of the arena talking to some XU fans who said Christon gets cramps practically every game. They said it's definitely a problem.

RE: Xavier Game Thread
After last year's game Billy Cunningham's fearless prediction was X to the Final Four. Don't hold your breath for a similar prediction for UC today...if he talks about the game at all. Even listening to Amazon after the postgame he was giving it to his newsguy saying he was a big X fan. When the newscast came on it wasn't even a story--just the score near the end of the newscast. Seems when X wins it's the lead story in town. Still I'd rather the 'Cats just win and move on.

RE: Xavier Game Thread
It sounded like Mr. Dakich had a little too much Christmas cheer before he got on the air, "I got a friend who is a woman, single Mom, who is a basketba..um socce...um softball coach that Jim Boeheim reached out to. You know Jim Boeheim is a great man. Hey Bob, you should like bad offense since you call Jets' games. I live in Indy and Bloomington, and I would like to let you know that I have this friend who is the greatest women's softball coach....."

I was impressed that he only mentioned that he saw Dee Davis play in high school once or twice. He also didn't mention how he saw Robinson play in high school.

The Boeheim thing was driving me nuts. Who the hell is debating whether Boeheim is or is not an all-time elite coach? No one would question that. The man was arguing with himself.

Many people, have. In order to be an elite coach you might have to win more than 1 national title. Boehim is Huggins like in he as choked away a lot of good teams.
