But athletics wise, they bring NOTHING to the table.
Overall Record (Conference Record) over the last 5 years
Marshall
2008: 4-8 (3-5)
2009: 7-6 (4-4) [bowl win]
2010: 5-7 (4-4)
2011: 7-6 (5-3) [bowl win]
2012: 5-7 (4-4)
SMU
2008: 1-11 (0-8)
2009: 8-5 (6-2) [bowl win]
2010: 7-7 (6-2) [CCG loss, bowl loss]
2011: 8-5 (5-3) [bowl win]
2012: 6-6 (5-3) [bowl TBD]
I don't know whether you feel that Marshall deserves it over SMU, but your post came across that way. Irrespective, we've done okay - not great. But lumping us in with Tulane is a little unfair.

I hear you but its like looking at a bad traffic accident....you yell at everyone for rubbernecking but you just have to slow down when and watch when you roll by.
Im stoked about next years CUSA-W football lineup, the Liberty Bowl and the rebirth of USM football.
Even if we leave Im gonna enjoy every single second Tulsa is in CUSA. If its a few more years or 50.

Why is it a disaster?
Its a disaster because some egos got in the way and said no to a contract that would have paid 11 million per team. Now your gonna be damn lucky to get a penny more than currently in cusa. Oh and before its said and done you may have to send womens bb and volleyball to sdsu and boise and whoever else they find from back there.
the be is much like the federal gov. the spending is gonna outpace the revenue.

At least you admit it...
I just think it is a lot more likely that the MWC loses teams from the current lineup than them gaining teams from the BE or CUSA. I especially think it is wishful thinking for Houston/SMU to go there after being in CUSA before and being in the BE now.

silly post. how could anyone say that out loud after the last two years? 1) reduces the potential for nbe to reach out to CUSA for more teams, 2) increases the potential for certain remaining mwc and cusa teams to join together, 3) reduces the risk of Boise pulling out, which decreases the risk of remaining nbe teams needing a new home. there's more, but that should be enough.
