I wouldn't mind losing the cat scratches either. They add nothing and really don't even look like scratch marks more like curved lightening bolts as they aren't rendered very well.

The new lids would be better with the patterned red and the Cpaw.

Those are pretty awesome.

Not a big fan, I prefer the "classic" looks for football uniforms and helmets.

I think it'll look better on the field rather than up close.

It's different, and in a really cool way.

I'm with ya, the cat scratches look gimmiky. A little too jr. high.

HAS to be just about the best UC helmet I've ever seen! I still like the typical black, but this one is right there with it. Make this the ring of red helmet from now on.

Kinda strange that, at least from Tommy G's photo, one of the cat scratches runs into the top of the C-Paw's middle claw. Not to nitpick but I hope that can get re-sized/re-located up just a tad.

Edit to add: Looking at UC's official photo of these on Facebook of the other side of the helmet, the scratches don't seem to impede the C-paw nearly as much. Hopefully Tommy G had some kind of early prototype or something.

A very hot alternate look--much classier than most of the special uniforms and helmets we saw in games this season that were flat out ugly.
Amazing isn't it, the Belk Bowl helmet pic draws more comments on a thread today than anything about the basketball game on Wednesday? Never would have happened ten years ago.

From the front it has a very San Diego State look.

They're not bad. They look flashy, and that's what the kids like.

Personally, I'd like to see them wear a throwback one of these bowls to pay homage to those players that were never set up with a real possibility to play in a bowl.

I love them. I will bet the players love them also and hopefully future Bearcats.

I've been hoping for a carbon fiber type helmet for a while. Never dreamed they would come up with a red one. Look really sharp, but I would like to see them on the left side as well. Is there a C-paw on that side as well, or all scratch marks?

The carbon fiber effect is great.

Does anyone else have that?

I am not bothered by the claw marks.

Gotta say those are pretty damn cool.

I've seen them on Oregon and TCU in the past.

Was driving up to Dayton to finalize a deal and tuned into College Sports Radio, Packer and rick neuheisel , they were
talking about the Belk Bowl and Packer brought these helmets. Said they were top shelf.
