Bunch of OSU fans coming down and spending money in Cincinnati. Fine with me. Maybe recruits will come to the OSU spring game and realize what a cool city Cincinnati is.

I agree with this attitude - let OSU fans fill up the hotels, bars and businesses in Cincinnati for the weekend. Some of that money will find its way back to UC thru tuition and extra cash for donations or tickets.

If anyone were to get a deal, it should be the local team, not the one from 100 miles away. Not getting into that anymore since we know Brown don't care.

I believe Mike Brown's father (the late great Paul Brown) was a huge Ohio State fan, and I'd imagine Mike is as well.

Also, Paul Brown went to UC's biggest football rival, Miami OH... kinda makes ya wonder if Mike Brown really does have a bias against UC :muttering:

Hell Paul Brown won a national championship at OSU as the head coach.

Yeah, but it was in 1942. I don't count any games that were played between Pearl Harbor and 1945. Even 1946 is a little suspicious because we had only just started decommissioning the troops at the start of the season.

Screw them. I'd hope the local media would rip them a new one given the fact that these elitist dodgers won't play us in hoops and continually cancel us in football unless the match up is just right for them. But then again pur media is a joke. Anyway, whatever, let them come down and fill the place. They play every other Ohio school but us yet they'll come here for a spring game. They make me sick.

Aa couple of points shoudl be made.
I hope Mike Brown charging OSU the same amount of money that they charge the Bearcats to open/play in the PBS. If not then UC should have a problem.
Why? Because the stadium is paid for with the .5% extra sales tax charged in Hamilton County to pay for both stadiums. The 41,000 UC students are responsible for generating a significant amount of sales tax money in Hamilton County which is use to pay for the stadium.
If they are charging the same amount of money then I have no problem with it.

Frankly, I don't think UC has any righ to complain. They committed themselves to Nippert for the long haul. It is not as if OSU is coming to Nippert to play the Spring Game. MIke Brown has a business to run and the city needs the revenue.

This all being said, UC should host its own event on this day. Something big... get a national act to play at Nippert that would draw a crowd and lets have a football scrimmage. We can celebrate the Bearcats.

Maybe a FOIA request could be made to learn the terms of tosu's
deal with PBS and then compare this to UC's "Deal"?

Or maybe hold a spring game in Columbus or Dayton.
