Holland got more accomplished than I ever expected when he got here in 2005 and leaves us in great shape. App, UNCC, and ODU however should be a little somber today as well because it's doubtful the next AD of ECU is nearly as friendly and helpful to area competitors as Holland was to you guys. The approach he took was pretty much the antithesis of the one almost every other AD has or would have taken in the same situation.

lol, that's OK we have a deal with an in state rival that will fill the void left by the mighty ECU Pirates if this guy you speak of thinks he's too good for a series. Charlotte and ODU are in. We thank TH for his help. We'll take it from here.

But what area are you talking about and what makes you think this new guy is going to be an arrogant bastard. Let me tell you something. The 757 owns the northeast corridor of North Carolina. ECU is in our area.

Thanks and good luck.

The "757"....03-lmfao ODU does not own anything, hell I bet most of the Northeast corridor of North Carolina could not even tell you where ODU is located.

I highly doubt Va Tech will return the sentiments of ODU being an in-state rival, especially when they keep skull dragging you guys up and down the field..Good luck with that.

So give me a good reason CUSA should welcome you and the rest of the Greedy back instead of just letting you dangle in the wind.

$$$ which is the reason for anything in realignment. If there were some reason that any number of defectors were left out and it made $ense to C-USA to add them back they would, and if it didn't they wouldn't.

Well that didn't take long to go from thanking Coach Holland to butthurt from other fan bases. Not a record by a long shot, but close.

Please, I’ve never meet an ODU alumni on the OBX nor seen a bumper sticker supporting ODU. Explain how you own the NE corridor of NC. Your 3rd or 4th in VA and don’t make the top 10 in NE North Carolina. This should be humorous. Don't get me wrong, I like ODU, but your statement too funny.

LoL... I agree 100%. I think I met 1 ODU fan in my 3 years in Charlotte... and 0 ODU fans my 7 years in Greenville.

Terry Holland is a great leader and well deserving of a good retirement. He is 70 years old and has been doing this a long time. He will still be a great embassador for our University. ECU is definately better off now than the day he arrived. Always a sign of success.

No I'm serious, the 757's impact reaches deep into NE N. Carolina. NE N. Carolinians depend on the Hampton Roads area for their cultural, financial, medical, social, consumer and ODU football needs. Just pull into a parking lot at Greenbrier in Chesapeake and count the number of NC license plates. Not everyone wants to wear wrangler jeans from Walmart.

We are their market. NE N. Carolina is Hampton Roads. Our media reaches deep into Carolina. Folks down there are able to tune into the Bobby Wilder Coaches show.

A lot of rural Carolinians also come to the 757 to get reacclimated with the modern world.

And in turn it is the Hampton Roads area that helps fuels the resort areas of North Carolina as well. I can even pickup the Viginia Pilot as far down as Hatteras and read Harry Minium's ODU football blogs. Countless numbers of 757 residents and ODU fans visit the NC coast more than once a year helping the local economy down there.

The 757's impact on NE N. Carolina is huge.

We thank Terry Holland for waking up the sleeping giant that is ODU Football.

I grew up in NE NC and still have family there. They do not go to Tidewater for their needs but Greenville.

ODU takes each step one at a time. Our goal is to reach FBS status. That has been accomplished. Now we build our program to compete at the FBS level. Then we compete. We are not arrogant like ECU fans are when they got their BE invite to think we are going to be an overnight success, but with our reputation it will only be a matter of time.

We respect our future conference members no matter who they are. If we move on we will bid farewell to our former mates and not mock them like some ECU fans did after they were invited to the BE.
