ASU has TWO Louisiana kids on roster

03-lmfao @ your info. Freshman RB Kenneth Dixon is from Strong, Arkansas and has broken Marshall Faulk's freshman TD record this year.

EDIT: AAAAAND Arky State tried to recruit him after he committed to Tech.

EDIT x2: Also Sophomore guard Raheem Appleby (WAC Freshman of the Year and Tech's leading scorer in BKB) is from Jacksonville, Arkansas as well.

Ya, it seemed really dead the last time I was there.

Memphis fans come in on the east side of town where there is nothing except manufacturing and the road past a lot of retail and fast food on the way to campus.

UNT fans come in from the south where farms are becoming subdivisions and then hit that same road to campus.

You won't find any titty bars but there is plenty to do in downtown Jonesboro where the old buildings are mixed use with loft apartments, retail and restaurants and bars. It's not Bourbon Street or Beale but no one will ask you where you got your shoes.

How about y'all hire an SID who knows how to use email and send an updated roster to the world-wide leader in sports.

Strong is 50 miles from Ruston and 265 miles from Jonesboro.

I think all four should be added and go to 16. It would be a real solid conference and would create awesome geographical rivalries!! Not to mention ruining the SunBelt competition for good. This would be fun football for the fans!!

MTSU/WKU
USM/La Tech/UAB
FAU/FIU
NMSU/UTEP
North Texas/Tulsa
Marshall/ODU/UNC-Charlotte
Rice/UTSA

Others...

Marshall/WKU
North Texas/Rice
UTSA/UTEP
MTSU/Marshall

Sun Belted out

You've taken two Sun Belt teams and in the past five years UNT is 11-28 in Sun Belt play and FIU is 19-20 (with one left to play).

I have no issue with your school. The only school I have an issue with adding is FAU. I would just personally go in a different direction outside the box. Some here seem more driven to destroy the Sunbelt than to improve (or slow down the bleeding) of CUSA. Someone actually argued for Texas State and FAU and their only point was taking the Sunbelt out of Florida and Texas as if they have any impact whatsoever in Florida and Texas.

You want a big market, large state, highly endowed, and athleticly solid addition?

Look at Delaware.

I don't want to kill the SBC but thinking about something... if CUSA takes 2+ teams how will they react. Since they did not expand beyond 10 when they had a chance. I know NMSU is available but how long before FCS teams could move up? Porbably should have invited Appy last round.

Reading comprehension FTL.

Scroll up and read the thread. See if you can figure out what SunBelt school I'd be most happy in a conference with.

You are very good with realignment topics. Don't ruin it, baby.

I would LOVE to add App St.... Especially before the likes of FAU and NMSU.

If we go 16 then that means we must add 4.

I'd like to add MTSU, WKU, UMASS, and Delaware

Then slide So Miss and UAB to the West and we are good to go.

This would add 3 good basketball programs. Brings in 3 big markets. Also brings in 3 good football programs with decent fan base.
This to me is MUCH better than adding anymore Texas schools. NMSU, please no unless UTEP really wanted them, but I doubt that.

There is just no one in the west left to add.

EDIT: I'm also more than ok with adding App. St. They are the little ECU in terms of getting looked over only due to market size. Everything else is deserving.

RE: Old Dominion Writer Harry Minium on CUSA Expansion
I am going to approach this as a business decision instead of a football decision. We lose Tulane and the N.O. market; we replace them with Georgia St. and Atlanta's market. We lose ECU a football school, we replace them with MTSU a football school near Nashville (and get back in the TN market). We add WKU and get back in the KY market and FAU for recruiting and the market (that gets teams into FL annually instead of every two years).

ECU drove the bus last time. I figure Marshall & USM have earned the right to drive it this time. I would love to see APP in CUSA but I don't believe it's in the cards (unless Marshall wants them in). Thanks Terry Holland you have been a friend.

I've got the feeling Delaware is still in the "crosshairs' of C-USA. (to assist ODU, Charlotte, Marshall).. as I think they were the East fall back if ODU or Charlotte backed out.

It's the east/west thing that's going to be a problem.. because the only team that doesn't put all the "power players" (Except Marshall) to the West side would be MTSU, and I don't think they're above WKU on the pecking order.

I don't think Appy State is even on the radar... (not with what's needed to be replaced in terms of tv-eyes)

MTSU, WKU, UMASS Delaware give me zero appeal.

Maybe UTEP and UTSA join the MWC after this is all said and done.

Unfortunately, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, and Michigan aren't exactly options. Sometimes the best options give zero appeal, but they are still the best options.

I cannot fathom how NMSU could be considered for CUSA. NMSU needs to call in the dogs and head to the Big Sky.
