I think number 1 on our list is Blake Anderson.. But Magee tweeted that Anderson has said that he wanted to be a HC one day and only if the fit was right.

I'd still put Blake as number 1.

1. Blake Anderson
2. Bobby Petrino (why not? he's on hard times and is a proven winner)
3. Kirby Smart (long shot but ya never know)

I know we don't want Chizik. And rumor from my buddy at Bama is that if Smart does leave it'll be for the NC State job.

If we have to go cheap I'd like us to look at Todd Berry at Louisiana Monroe or Jason Simpson at UT Martin! .. If we have money though I think we have to look at Blake Anderson, Wille Taggert and Kliff Kingsburry

Jeff Bower......ok just kidding but someone had to say it.

As much as id like Anderson im not sure he would take it after being turned down last year but you never know.

Todd Berry would be interesting

id make the call to tommy bowden & say we cant pay you much but we have a conference of nobodys & going unbeaten should be easy........

Win one game and you'll already be head and shoulders above the last guy.

I asked myself as a UAB alum and Blazer fan, who I'd least like to see in Hattiesburg, and it's a runaway: Bobby Petrino.

I would take a very long and very hard look at the NIU coach. He's been really damn good for few years now.

He's only been there two years, but he's won 22 games. He was a former Wisconsin DC.

Taggert is a WKU alum. I bet it takes a big job to get him to leave.

MAC could lose 4 to 5 coaches this year

Do you think the NIU coach would come to Southern Miss.. I mean his team is up for another MAC title this year right?

We would pay him more.

Recruiting the South may be the issue there.

RE: ***Official USM Coaching Search Thread***
I know a lot of people don't like Blake Anderson. But it's possible that he may the best hire for us.

He was always very good at recruiting Louisiana and Alabama. With State and Ole Miss starting to become somewhat relevant again, it's going to get pretty hard to recruit Mississippi, which hasn't really produced very many notable players as of late. Anderson's ability to hit Louisiana will be especially important because of Johnson at Tulane now in the Big East. He was good enough as a recruiter in C-USA, now he can throw around that BSC label.

But you gotta win as well. With the emergence of State and OM, Tulane's move to the Big East (worked wonders for USF), things are about to get difficult.

Curtis Johnson won't do anything at Tulane.
