Johnson would be a good choice. I had not even thought about him.

He interviewed last year and Lanny has him listed as a secondary candidate. He's done good things and I'd give him a shot.

Even chuck-steak candidates look good compared to the dog turds we've been eating the last year.

I hear John Thompson has a nice Power Point Presentation. And, he is a former DC for y'all. Nah, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Good luck with your search. Y'all deserve so muh better that Ellis.

Word is that Blake Anderson will not "interview" but will take the job if offered. So I guess we can scratch him.

Heard this mornig too that EJ is gone, not his coaches, but Lucas is reserving the right to pay them off as well when the new HC comes in and wants a new staff.

I believe we are considering keeping two young assistants to help salvage recruiting this year. I seriously doubt we are keeping Buckley, West, or anyone like that. Dear God, I hope not.

I don't blame Blake. USM knows who he is. They screwed up an turned him down once.

Also, a good interview doesn't mean $@-&. We saw that with EJ.

I'd have to see that interview to actually believe it was good. Look at his press conferences.

I think Martha is just an idiot.

don't understand why we should scratch him if he's saying he would take the job if offered.

I think it boils down to the whole official thing. I'm sure if he knew the job was his he'd come in for an "interview".

Todd Monken intrigues me though.

Normally this thread would be much closer to the top. It really seems like the conference moves that happened yesterday have finally put a damper on interest in USM sports. USM basically shrugged off previous reshufflings (both fans an administrators). This one is looking different. It's too close to home. Personally, I was thinking about going to the BB game last night... but I just had zero enthusiasm for it after the day's events.

USM administrators need to take notice. This is a fire that needs to be put out. It's not a "distraction," nor is it "outside our control."

Andre, if you get the chance.. GO!! Don't let one issue ruin a great start to a season.

We just FIRED a loser coach, and you've got zero enthusiasm for a 6-0 team?

I think Andre is deflated at the moment.. In the past few days he's called for Hammond to be fired.. He's called USM a community college and our degrees worthless.. And today he's saying he didn't want to go to the basketball game because of some roody poo reason.

If I lived in Hatty, I'd probably went last night to see those kids play.

Damn right.. unfortunately, my vacation time is already pretty much pre-defined for the next two months, otherwise, i'd be coming down to go to the Yurt for at least one game.

From what I see some people saying, Monken is pretty much out. He doesn't really like the spotlight and does not like PCs.

As it stands right now, I like Blake Anderson. His offense at Middle Tennessee was good and was passing oriented. When he went to ULL, he changed his offense to run-oriented offense to fit what Bustle wanted, his offenses were good there. He played a big part here in the development of Austin Davis and Martevious Young early in their career. His offenses were perfectly balanced and much more unpredictable than Wyatt's offenses. His offenses were 18th and 16th in the country respectively. His offense this year is ranked 12th in the country and scores 40 points per game. He knows the area and is a proven recruiter. The players know, like, and respect him. His offense will put butts in the stands and I think after seeing the difference Ditsch made in 2011, he will understand the importance of having good assistants.

Anderson is my first choice. Thinking outside the box would be Jason Simpson at UTM. USM alum, he has brought back and absolutely horrific program to the point of respect in the FCS and he has head coaching experience. But Anderson is my first choice here.

NIU coach as well. Success as a HC. But does not know the area around here so I'm not sure how well he will be able to recruit.

Honestly.. I wouldn't mind having Nix doing somethig with the defense, not a DC and/or Favre working with the offense like a QB coach. But other than that, I'm Team Blake. Bring Anderson back.
